Sporster speedometer keeps cutting out

First thing to check and is usually the problem is the Negative battery terminal on the battery. When they come loose they will start arcing as well and will build up carbon on the battery connection and the connectors hooked to it. If it is loose, check and remove any carbon build up on them (chip, sand, file, grind, etc. etc.).

I have a 2007 keeway f-act 50. it has developed a proble, its starts fine but when i pull the accelorator the bike goes up to around 7000 rpm and the engine starts to cut out. i have checked the HT lead...

I will recomend you to clean the carburetor and change the spark plug. If the spark plug is bad it might get problems to set fire to the gas. so change it and you might get your motorcycle working again. Good Luck.

Bike starts and idles but cuts off when put in gear

Hi there!
If bike is acting fine when in neutral, I would bet your problem is in your clutch cable, either it is broken of mis-adjusted. Please refer to the user manual and check the adjustment, because this should be easy to solve :)
Hope this helps!

Backfiring, cutting out and won't start

Sounds like getting hot is the key here - try a better shop. A competent shop should be able to find this quickly. Sounds like a carb issue to me.

Engine misfire and cutting out when running at normal engine temp

Make sure your fuel tank vent is not plugged. To see if this is the problem, the next time the bike starts acting up, stop and open the fuel tank. If you hear a whoosh of air being sucked in you know your vent is plugged.

The C8HA is still available, it is NGK stock number 2168.
Good luck.

998 cutting out at 9000rpm

so I don't think it should be the rev limiter at 9k. It's not bouncing like a rev limiter it just stops firing the cylinders and the comes back again when the throttle is released. It has the stock 996r ECU. Since I got it I've fitted a smaller battery to make room for frame sliders. Could this cause the bike to cut out earlier? It cuts out then runs fine again. The other things I can think of is fuel delivery. But I'm not sure the symptom is correct for that? Any thoughts would be appreciated. In any case I'll put the stock battery back on to see if that helps, but I wont know the answer until next Friday when I'm going to the track,I recently had a problem with one of my Guzzis acting like that at 6k RPM. Always at 6k RPM, but only under load. Ended up being a restricted air intake. Really strange, because it acted just like a rev-limiter. So, does it only act this way under load, or also if you just rev the bike in neutral? If it's a limiter problem or tach error, it should still have the problem even with no load. If the problem is only under load, then it's either a fuel or air problem.,,,
