The circuit breaks the ground to work. Both wires go to both signals, the black have two different connections to get back to the signal relay 9different paths). Take your old wires and follow back to see how the were run before.

My 2013 Softtail Slim right side turn signals have stopped working. Bulbs & fuses are good

Hi, Bob before diagnosing any turn signal/running light/parking light issue make sure the bulb is good and the light fuse has continuity with a test light. If you have replaced you OEM lights with LED lights you are going to need a load equalizer. If no turn signals work the cause could be a faulty turn signal module or the connector going to it, look for corroded, loose, or broken pins/sockets. Contact spray cleaner is great for removing corrosion. If your speedometer does not function properly it will have to be fixed first because your turn signal module gets the data from the speedometer for normal turn signal function. If your front turn signals don't work use a test light to check for power and ground at the bulb socket, then start backtracking the wiring through every wire connector to the turn signal switch/button and check for continuity, go all the way back to the fuse if necessary to find the cause of the malfunction. If your rear turn signals don't work check your rear fender wiring harness connector first for corroded, broken, loose pins/sockets, power, and a good ground, (the harness connector is usually located under the seat on the front of the rear fender) then keep tracing the wiring look for obvious harness damage caused by the rear tire. If you still can't find the malfunction backtrack from the rear fender wiring harness connector. If one side does not work you could have a faulty turn signal switch or module check for continuity. How do i remove rear turn signals on 2009 street bob?

If you need to remove the tail lite, brake lite and signal light harness start by removing the seat. Then disconnect the negative battery cable. Then detach the rear electrical harness connector. Then locate and follow the wires for the taillight and signal lights to the connector (8 pin) under the seat area and separate the connector. Then cut the cable tie strap holding the wiring harness to the frame and pull the harness through the fender opening. Then follow the conduit/harness back to the fender hole where the wiring exits the fender underside and enters the tail lite housing and backplate. This is not necessary for removal of the tail/brake lite assembly or the signal lie assemblies.

If you want to remove the tail/brake lite assembly remove the tail light lens and the with a small screwdriver depress the small tang in the tail lite four wire Multilock connector and remove the tail lite and then do the same and release the two wire signal light connectors one at a time from the tail lite base and remove the signal light connectors. These smaller two wire Multilock connectors are on the left and right sides of the base plate in the centre portions of the base plate where the 4 wire tail lite connector on the left side of the base plate is located and the wiring harness connector of the wires from the front of the bike to the base plate on the right side. The wires from the left and right signal lite assemblies go from these connection points on the base plate out through each side of the base plate and into the area under the back of the rear fender to each signal lite assembly. Then similarly release the Multilock connector of the harness from under the seat to the tail lite base. When you have disconnected the connectors from the base plate and have routed the wire harnesses out into the area under the fender you can release them from the wire clips at each side of the under fender areas. Then for each side remove the lamp support by unscrewing and removing the fastener and washer inside the rear fender, after which the lamp housing can be removed from the lamp support by pulling it and the wiring you disconnected from the tail lite base out through the lamp support. If you wish to release/remove the tail lite base undo the fastener and remove it.

How or where do I unplug and then remove the rear turn signal from an '03 Fatboy?

The wire connection should plug into the taillight. Remove the lens and you will see what I'm talking about. You will need to remove the black connector after you unplug it and probably cut the silver plug off to get the wire through the standoff. If you're good at soldering, just cut wires about 2 inches from the black connector and solder them back together and coverr the splice with heat shrink when finished. Good luck!

I HAVE A 1997 HONDA SHADOW 600 FRONT BLINKERS WORK FINE RIGHT REAR WORKS FINE BUT LEFT REAR WILL NOT BLINK LEFT FRONT DOSE BUT FAST I CHANGED BULB IN LEFT REAR DID NOT HELP IS IT A BAD FLASHER

If you have changed the blinkers over to LED lights , you need to put diodes on the wires to stop the fast flash. Honda turn signals Have to grounded to the green ground wires in the harness. You can not ground them to the frame or other wires or the flasher system will not work correctly. Double check that all the wires are connected to the harness correctly (They are color coded). Blue with white band is the same as blue with white stripe. Orange with white band is the same as orange with white stripe. If you have crossed the wires on the front turn signals you may be powering the rear turnsignal with the running light. The running light is the dimmer half of the bulb. The turn signal/flashing light is the brighter side of the bulb. Inspect your wiring carefully.

I have a 1999 road king classic fuel injected. It keeps blowing the fuse that runs the turnsignals and the speedometer. Any suggestions

Isolate the speedo and see if it blows the fuse. If so, then you know it's something to do with the turn signals. Have you had a fender off or something like that lately? You might have pinched a wire. Some of the wires run between the fender strut and the fender itself and can get pinched without you knowing it if you've loosened and retightened a fender. You may have to take all the bulbs out of the turn signal units and then do a continuity test from the turn signal cancelling unit plug to ground in order to find the shorted wire.

Good Luck

The three wires to the tow lights have been cut, and i cant find where in the harness they are cut can i bypass it all and just rerun new wires?

Yes. But do you have seperate yellow turn signal lights in the rear or do the turn signals work independant of the brake lights? If yes then you need to wire in a taillight converter. It takes your seperate left & right turn signals combines them with your brake lights on 2 wires instead of 3 leaving you with your normal 4 wires in total instead of 5. 1 Left turn & brake light. 1 Right turn & brake. 1 Taillight. 1 Ground. = 4 wires in total. If you dont have seperate rear turn signals just find left turn wire in taillight assembly, Right turn wire & Taillight & a good ground & you are done. On trailer plug yellow is left, green is right ,brown is tailight & white is ground.

Turn signal wiring was cut

Should only be 2 wires back there. Look at the opposite working side and it will have 2 wires also, one the same color and one a different color. The 2 wires matching in color are your ground wires for each side. Then you have a color for left and another color for right...Good luck
