Take the head off and take it to a machine shop where they can check and adjust everything. cost is normally around 150 for the machine side and and get a upper gasket kit which includes the head gasket it's a lot better to do this than to just replace the head gasket and the plus side is you only have to take it apart once

Transmission vibrates upon acceleration

Then you likely have a blown head gasket. This is just a guess so have a shop diagnose it before you repair anthing.

Coolant leak in Cylinider

You have to have a torque wrench to start with. Without it you are wasting your time. You can also damage the head. You can buy a torque wrench at Harbor Freight for a very good price with a lifetime warranty. I would not attempt to do it again without the torque wrench. You also might want to have the head resurfaced at the machine shop. Aluminum tends to warp when over heated. I hope this was helpful. Good luck.

hi what you have just described is the head gasket leaking.you say you do not get a drip on the floor??check to see if the oil has travelled towards the rear of the head??if so how much??although this will not really affect the bike under normal riding it is recommended that you get it repaired sooner rather then later.

Head gasket leak on 2oo5 vtxf? does the head

Likely, you have a warped head from the overheating which caused the leak. The head must be removed and resurfaced or replaced if badly warped. Look for the cause of the overheating which caused the damage in the first place.

I had the same prob with my 97, It was not the head gasket but the O-ring on top of the head. Replaced the O-ring and has been running good for a year now with no backfire. Hope this helps.

Two questions: Oil leak from top of engine; bike shut down ridin

the battery terminal being loose would cause that, since the rectifier would freak out. the leak you speak of is probably not eh head gasket ro you would have compression problem with amount of oil that can run down the bike. It sounds like a corner on the valve cover gasket or something I think there is a cover for the valve adjust ment there so check it out the gasket may be worn. no biggie get a new one.
help this helps

Could you guys illustrate to us the correct timings for the camshaft of kxf25o dirt bike? We can't seem to fire up the bike hope to hear from you we are eager to fire up the bike. Thanks

Set your piston at TDC (top dead center), align the dots on the cam gears parallel with the top gasket surface of the cylinder head, then install your cam chain. Install and set your tensioner assembly. Your engine should now be in time. Turn the engine over one full cycle, re-check your cam timing, and adjust if nessesary.
