Question about 2005 kawasaki ZX-10R

1 Answer

ZX10r will crank over but will not fire up.

Changed spark plugs but still will not start.  Does the bike have relays or anything electrical that might have gone out?  I believe this is fuel related.  LMK

Got spark new plug fuel carb changed won't fire or start

Is the plug wet?, maybe it's either flooded or it's not getting fuel.
Pull plug if wet dry it, make sure fuel off and crank bike with out plug in to clear the cylinder. Replace plug, try to start. if it doesn't start then you have to determine if it's flooding or if it isn't. Hows the spark look? Orange or white/blue? How fast is it cranking? Is the battery fully charged?

Harley Davidson - FXSTI Softail standard cranks but will not start

If the bike has carbs, try cleaning them because the only other problem is that the bike is not getting fuel.

Yfz 450 only runs when pull started. Wasn't and haven't had any such issues starting it any time before.

Hi, Sal and the usual suspects are:
1. Fouled spark plugs.
2. Severely discharged or a damaged battery, should have 12.5 volts or better and be able to pass a load test if necessary.
3. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Loose connection at ignition coil or plug between ignition sensor and module.
5. Spark plug cables in bad condition, shorting / leaking, spark plug cable connections loose, check for spark leakage in the dark.
6. Faulty ignition coil, pick up coil, trigger coil or CDI box testing needs to be checked with an ohmmeter at 70 degrees Fahrenheit
7. Faulty safety switches clutch, kickstand, neutral, off/on etc.
8. Faulty ignition switch.

2005 equinox died n won't turn over again.

As with any no-start condition, you first need to know if it is no spark or no fuel.
You could try spraying carb cleaner or starting fluid into the air cleaner hose to check for no fuel. Or pull 2 or 3 plugs and check for spark.
Also take a look at the ECM for trouble codes.
It could be anything from a plugged fuel line to the gas tank to a bad relay to a dead ECM.

I have a Kawasaki zx10r i replaced battery and after riding bike for few minutes u loose all power to bike lights and tach lights on console than have to jump bike to get it to start than it will do again

I bought a 04 zx10r. good battery but no electrical power any where but the starter relay. all of the suspected componets were chect on a running bike and perfermed normal. the issue was in the wire harness. I found a short in the #1 terminal connector on the left rail of the seat frame. It is hard to find as it is wraped in black tape. I found that the wire terminal had corroded and broken into. This wire leads back to the positive side of the starter relay and from that point it powers almost everything on the bike. I hope this helps. Good luck. Gixxerboy.

Will not start

If your kickstand was down when you tried to put it in gear it will kill the engine. And not start until the clutch is pulled in.

Starting problems st50-3

Does the motor try to turn over? Does it make any sounds? You need to check the battery use a volt meter and check the voltage it should be at 12-13 a little less is ok. Now while the meter is still atached turn the bike on and try to start it. Watch the voltage drop it should not go below 9 volts. If it does then your battery may not be able to produce enough volts to run. If your battery is good. The easiest way to start looking for the problem is to start at your spark plug. When you test spark plugs you have to ground them . So lay the part of the plug that screws into your cyclinder head on the motor. You should be able to see it spark if its good. DO NOT hold the sparkpug while turning it on. It carries very high voltage and it will hurt enough that you will never forget it. I would assume you have already done this but if you havnt get a new spark plug and try that. If there is no spark then you should check your coil. If you follow the cord that plugs on to your spark plug to a box looking thing and take your volt meter and and put the gound to the ground on the battery and put the power on the wire going into the box on the other side of it form where the spark plug wire is and see if you have any voltage when you turn the bike on and try to start it. If you do then your problem is either the coil or the wire that goes to your plug. I believe they come as a set when you relace that. Keep going back thru the wires in the same manner checking to wires and components. I am having a hard time finding a wiring schimatic for your bike so im not entirely sure where the wires go from there. Hope this has helped you please give a review. Good luck
