I have a 1995 mercury sable i get no spark it has the 3.8l .it also has a ditribitor and coil packs why am i getting no spark replaced plugs coil packs distributor

Are you getting any voltage to the primary side of the coil?

If you have no spark, I would test the crankshaft position sensor. If it's not that then probably the coil pack. Without a crankshaft sensor signal, you will get no spark. Same goes for the coil pack. I would bet on the crankshaft position sensor being bad. Good luck.

i have a 2000 mercury sable wont start. its getting gas, but not getting fire. i change the crank sensor an the coil pack but still no spark from the coil

f a coil pack, you will have 6 spark plug wires coming out of a coil pack.

If individual, you will have no psark plug wire but a coil mounted above each spark plug

It could be a coil pack. Follow the wire from the spark plug back to the coil pack. each one should run two cylinders. Switch the coil pack with a different one and see if a different cylinder misfires. They are easy to change, just 2 7mm screws hold each one on.

remove distributor cap,check for moisture or poor condition of 'contacts' on rotor & inside cap.check for a clean connection at coil to distributor lead,check spark plug wires.

use a test light and see if power is going to the coil. if yes then use a spark tester from a auto parts store. it will have settings for your vehicle. if the spark is not big enough it's just the same as not having one. then change the coil. if you don't get power before the coil have the ignition control modual checked. if bad replace it. good luck.

I had the same problem with my 97 sable it turned out to be the ecm module.

First I recommend you get an auto repair/maintence manual for about 20.00. by Chilton or Haynes then check trouble codes for your sable, this manual is reasonable and will aid you in any further and future repairs. this manual is the type I use, I work on or vehicles-( shady tree mechanic)

change fuel filter and drive belt and spark plug wires if it does not have coil packs
