Power goes through the starter switch, then to the dimmer switch, then to the headlight. Often the starter switch is the problem. When you hit the starter switch, the headlight goes out to give the starter full power. If the headlight contacts in the starter switch get dirty or go bad, you lose power to the headlight.
If you lose just a high beam or just a low beam, it could be the dimmer or one of the headlight relays, but the starter switch issue causes both beams to stop working.

Headlight fault

You may have blown a fuse, check fuses first then before you try to replace the bulb again check for broken wires or the correct bulb

Roof light stopped working

Fuses do not cause bulbs to burn out. You probably have a defective light fixture.

My right head lights are out on my 86 pontiac parisienne, is it the fuse?

The fuse is always the first thing to check when you have a problem. It does no good to change the bulb and find out that it was a fuse. I would try to change the fuse first. If that does not work, you can try to change the bulb. I would run down to an autoparts store and tell them what problems you are having. They should be able to provide you with a fuse or check the fuse for you. If that still does not work, the bulb needs to be changed. Hope this helps! Please feel free to contact me with any questions you have.

Tail lights do not work all lights work but the back lights do not work. I change the fuse but lights still don't come on. all the other lights work is there other fuses i need to replace

if the bulbs are ok! check bulb socket to see if you have power.with test light, if not make sure sockets are clean. check the bulbs first, because they are a double filiment bulb. for brakes and tail lights. did you change the correct fuse!! it is located in interior fuse box on drivers side end of dash. its on bottom left side of fuse box. its labled "stp lps". hope this helps,
