Question about 1998 Honda VT 1100 C3 Shadow Aero
My 1998 honda aero 1100, and it is sputtering then backfiring on acceleration.... have replaced both coils, no indication of shorts... appears fuel system is ok...
Make sure you didn't lose one of your screws in your idle adjustment or carb. Happened to me. I additionally had loss of power. Maybe lost 15 to 20 mph. I adjusted my idle screw too much and it flew off. Few bucks, good as new.

Your problem is going to lie in the carbs. rebuild them and clean the jets. it will be like new after that.
