Locate the serial number on a Kenmore washer made by Whirlpool. The second letter of the serial number identifies the year the machine was manufactured.
Engine numbers can be difficult to date. Is this number for a replacement engine or is it the original engine in the original frame/bike? If it is in the original frame the frame number and the VIN number can identify the year of manufacture. Comment below with these numbers and I'll try to help you more.
Not usually possible to ID a bike by serial number alone. Only a few brands have serial number that are unique enough to tell what brand they are, and even if you know the brand the serial number will rarely tell you the model, only the year. If there's no head badge (name plate on front of frame) or model decal then it does not matter at all what brand it is. Value is minimal.
Serial number alone doesn't provide information to identify a bike. Please provide manufacturer, number of speeds, type of bike, frame height and color
you will not get manufacturers names from a serial number
try taking the frame to a reputable bike repair shop and have it identified
some manufacturers us particular shaped joiners to make the frame and they may be able to recognize the manufacturer from that
then you may have a chance in identifying it of the serial number
Remingtons manufactured between 1921 and 1972 have a code located on the left side of the barrel near the frame that identifies the year and month of manufacture.
If yours is between 1921 and 1936, it should have two letters, one for month, and one for year.
If it doesn't have this code, it was made between 1909 and 1920.
REMINGTON Customer Service (1-800-243-9700 & follow the prompts) will look up your serial number and verify the age of your firearm.
Just to give some scope, serial number 757132 was 1929, about 569578 after yours.
The frame number is the Vehicle Identification Number. If the engine is the original engine, then the engine is the same year as decoded from the frame number. If it is not the original engine, you are hosed as to determining the year of the engine. The engine numbers will not identify what year the engine is. The only identifier is the frame number. Engine numbers are useless since they only denote the engine size, assembly plant, and sequence of that engine in a production run. You can go to the site below and enter the frame number into the VIN decoder to get the year and other information. Note; back in 1985 the manufacturers adopted 17 digit VIN. If you have less than 17 digits you are out of luck. Please rate my answer. Thanks. http://www.motoverse.com/tools/vin/kawasaki.asp
Hello: The tenth digit of the vin number tells you the year. Also look on the driver door frame or the door sill on the body if there is a white sticker it may give you the month and year of manufacturer.
Not to be flip here, but just pick up the phone and call a Yamaha shop and ask them. Other options are to look at your title, and examine the frame. A decal or metal tag with year and other info should be found on a frame tube under the seat, or near the output sproket, or on the frame ahead of the gas tank.
