Hi I have a 1978 Suzuki GS400. Does the motor have

Hi I have a 1978 Suzuki GS400. (Not a GS400E) Does the motor have to come out to replace the head gasket? The options for this question allow for GS400E, but it's not an E, just a GS400. Thx

you wont feel the resistance, as the 5 or 6 springs are stronger than you will be able to push. you can probably pull it out easily, and push it back in until it feels solid, this sound fairly normal.
wait for the new cable and see how it goes.
sometimes the clutch plates can stick together if it sits for an extended time, if you roll start it and vary the throttle while holding the clutch in, it usually unfreezes them.

Turn signal problem

My guess is the switch is worn out, not unusual on an old bike, either replace it or strip and recondition the original switch. On the underside of the switch should be two or three cross head screws to open it. Inside will be a small cross head screw/s to remove a cover plate. make sure the contact plates are clean and free from corrosion.
get back to me if you have any other problems and rate me if I've helped you.
Thanks ......and good luck with it.

Use 10w40 motor oil in the gear box. Don't use any synthetic oils, oil marked "EC", or oil with "special" additives. Use Two Stroke ENGINE oil in the pump.

Top rating? Thanks!
