Question about 2004 Yamaha FZ6

Gas sprays out of the cap on hot days

I have a Yamaha V-Star 650 with a black gas tank. On hot days, when get on the bike and right it, the gas in the tank moves, hits a part of the tank it wasn't touching before that's been made very hot from the sun and then the gasoline sprays out the cap and all over. Will a new seal fix this?

Gas cap isn't the problem... it appears that your breather line is kinked... clean it out and you should have no spillage

Bike's been sitting most of the summer. Have no acceleration or power.

Hi, Scott if your bike has been idle for months or years and does not want to start or runs poorly you will have to deal with a few remedies:
1. Drain and flush fuel tank, google " how to clean a motorcycle gas tank" find a couple forums to view the different options available.
2. Remove your air cleaner and clean and re-oil per Mfg. specifications.
3. Remove the carburetor, disassemble and decontaminate with a carb dip or if you have EFI remove injectors and clean with carb spray and compressed air
4. Remove fuel valve and filter disassemble and clean as necessary, remove fuel lines and replace with new ones.
5. Replace spark plug with a new one and check for spark.

Trouble starting

Hi, Josh and the usual suspects are:
1. Enrichner system plugged, not properly functioning or improperly operated.
2. Fuel overflow.
3. Restricted fuel supply.
4. Gas cap and or fuel tank not venting properly.
5. Plugged slow jet or passages.
6. Inlet system air leak.

I RIDE A 2003 650 V-STAR CUSTOM. I TOOK IT IN FOR

It sounds like they pinched the vent tube under the tank. There is a hose connected to the bottom of the tank that runs to the bottom of the bike. It allows air to enter the tank so you don't get vapor lock from the motor sucking fuel. You'll need to take the tank off and make sure the lines aren't pinching anywhere. I would call the mechanic and make him fix it and any damages to the tank.

How to lower the idle on a 2002 yamaha 650 v-star classic?

under the left side of the gas tank you will see i black knob/screw at the end of what looks like a hose. the knob faces the rear of bike. that adjusts the idle. its real easy to find and the only adjustment you can make to the carbs.
