Did you get it checked for cylinder pressure? take out spark plugs, clean them out and observe for any oil or deposits

2002 yamaha vstar 1100 where is the fuel pump located?

if the bike is fuel injected- the pump is in the fuel tank.. if the bike has carburetors- there is normally no fuel pump- the fuel gravity feeds from the tank thru the petcock valve into the carbs

I have a Yamaha Vstar 1100 classic. My problem is there is no power, sounds like it is out of time, and back fires. I already changed spark plugs and took carb apart to clean it. Should I check vacuum...

back fire and loss of power can be air leaks on the intake, including vacumn lines, or low voltage which could be a charging or coil problem.
Also check valve clearances, too smaller clearance or a stuck valve a can also cause this.
Electronic ignition timing is preset and doesnt usually change, unless the flywheel comes off or the cam chain and tensioner is completetly worn out, so this is not likely

My 83 GL1100 goldwing will not idle i have good firing at all cylinders but sitting on the bike the 2 left side exhaust pipes have good heat out exhaust while the 2 right are just warm, are there adjustment...

first try cleaning the carbs, new spark plugs and adjust valve clearances, new oil and clean air filter, before any screw adjustments, which will need some vacumn gauges attached to set the carb sync

Honda CB250 will not start. It will turn over and there is fire on the plugs and when I look at the plugs after trying, they are "wet" with fuel. What am I missing?

Valve clearance or camshaft timing. If you have no clearance on the intake valves at top dead center, then you will have no compression = no start.

Yamaha vstar 1100 back fireing

Re-jetting the carbs may be needed.
Imbalance of air/gas ratio will cause backfiring among many other things. :)

Other considerations:
Have the timing and valves set.

After market pipes will also increase the Poping sound when you let off the throttle. (not really backfiring but annoying)
Removing and plugging the AIS system will stop most of this.

Good luck!
Hope this helps.

Hi, Cgallops108 and the usual suspects are:
1. Dirt or other foreign matter between float valve and its seat.
2. Float valve sticking.
3. Float valve and/or valve seat worn or damaged.
4. Float misadjusted.
5. Float cracked, leaky or damaged.
6. Excessive "PUMPING" of hand throttle grip.

Motorcycle "back-fires" and often runs on one cylinder

Does the bike backfire only when the throttle is being closed? The carbs have a idle enrichment circuit. If the idle enrichment diaphragms are stuck in the closed position, the bike will backfire when the throttle is shut down. You can't remove these parts for cleaning without seperating the two carb bodies (and then needing to synchronize the carbs after reassembly). A trick that worked for me...fresh fuel, and some fuel system cleaner in the tank...ride the bike at highway speeds for 20 -30 minutes...repetedly rev the engine to a high RPM then shut the throttle closed. The repeted application of high engine vaccum to the enrichment diaphragms freed the stuck diaphragms and the fresh fuel cleaned any gum and varnish that caused the trouble. I've put 20,000 miles on it since then with no backfiring.
