Any special oils or lubricants in the gearbox? Use 10w40 motor oil in the gear box. Don't use any synthetic oils, oil marked "EC", or oil with "special" additives. Stick with the major brands; Pennzoil, Quaker State, Mobil or Shell. If in a hot area like Texas or New Mexico go with 20w50.

Shift trans into gear and engine stops running on a 1997 vulcan

There may be a safety switch on the kickstand so that if it is extended, the engine can not be running if it is in gear. Even if the kickstand is not down, if this switch is sticking it could be your problem. And if you don't have that switch, then I'll have to keep thinking.
Almost touring weather. Nice horse!

1997 vulcan unable to pull in clutch lever

If the lever was fine as you bled it then the problem lies elsewhere, either the slave cylinder is stuck or the push rod mechanism in the clutch itself is assembled wrong.

I have a 1997 kawasaki vulcan 1500 classic it grind going into 2nd gear and under heavy throttle it will kick out of gear i was told it is the shift fork but my shift lever is really loose i need to know...

Your shift lever should be able to be tightened, even if not, as long as the bike goes into gear than its doing its job, if it grinds and jumps out as you say than it is more than likely your shift/selector fork

Seems like transmission is slipping in 3 and forth gear . egine revs and loss of propulsion, back off throttle recovers.. does aroun 45+ MPH in3 and 4th gears. Makes it almost imossible to do 50

Sounds like a clutch issue for sure. My 96 1500 Vulcan Classic wore out the diaphram spring on the clutch at 12000 mmiles, 2nd one @ 2000. Bought aftermarket kit (shims) and 1600 clutch parts to fix. As of 6000 no problems.

only two things going on here, first the clutch is out of adjustment, no enough free play, the next is the clutch plates and springs need replacing.

sounds like the gear selector plate plunger is worn or needs a new spring. on most engines a hollow screw @ 3/4" is accessible from under gear box, take it out and stretch the spring and retry to eliminate possibility.

Clutch slipping while cold, when warm/hot, it operates great.

I have a 2000 Vulcan Nomad FI & had a very similar problem. In fact, it's a very common problem with these bikes. I fixed it by replacing the Clutch Spring. (As Described here: http://www.gadgetjq.com/clutch_spring_replacement.htm

It cost me $40 and 3 hours of time with an impact wrench.
