Question about 2008 Triumph America

1 Answer

My 2008 America just got a 20000 km service. But I suspect me dealer is screwing me as they have been sloppy on details. My engine holds back, at 50km/h in second gear it does and when i shift to 3rd it still feels like the engine is not running smoothly. Same story at 65 km/h in 3rd and 4th gear. Is adjusting valves a standard maintenance item at 20k km? I think they didn't. It's even worse now than it was before the service. Thanks

SOURCE: A clunck noise changing gear

Hi
This does sound like a gearbox problem, either where the cogs lock together (the dogs go into recesses) or the shift forks themselves
The dogs do wear after high mileage which can make them slip out of gear
Ive never heard of a gearbox smoothing out over such low mileage, but I suppose it is just possible
You could get the gearbox 'blueprinted' (i.e. to manufacturers exact specifications) but this will cost a bomb !
Your best bet is to complain again & at least get a ride on another rocket3, or get it sorted under warranty

Ride safe

Hello and welcome to FixYa!

Have you tried replacing the spark plug wires and checking the spark plugs? I suspect that you have fuel flooding that's why it backfires. Good current to the spark plugs will result to better fuel burning. Check the spark plugs if they have big gaps, covered with carbon or maybe it's just faulty.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

How to fix air bag light on in my Saturn VUE 2008

2008??' if so then its a dealer only job sorry for this answer but most vehicles are using encrypted software from 2005 and american market vehicles are not so suspect to this as europeon models even the same motor ,but as you have the emmisions test in america where the OBDII is accessed then this can be read but anything else?? then thats fair game for food without working for it ,as we say in spain for the dealers .Our inspection is done with a probe up the exhaust so the manufacturers can get away with dealer only connection to the factory to do anything ,its putting me out of work on modern vehicles as i cannot even put a service light out so its like i will be on the dole before long at this rate

I have a spanner symbol on my 407. what does this mean??

You need to carry out the periodical car service due (e.g. engine oil & filter, air filter, fuel filter, cabin air filter). The "service" spanner symbol "reset" button is placed on the lower right corner of the dashboard. See picture below:

tdisline_303.jpg
Then you should reset the "service" spanner symbol by pressing on the "reset" button on dashboard, when ignition key is in OFF position. Hold the button pressed and turn ignition key in ON position. Hold the button pressed and see on the dashboard successive numbers will appear: "10", "9", "8", ... , "1", "0". Then release the button and switch OFF the ignition key. The "service" spanner symbol followed by "20000 km" (or "30000 km" depending of the engine type), will appear for few seconds after turning ignition key in ON position, and will dissapear after engine starting. The car service due was reseted.

Please do rate my response. Thanks!

How do you reset the service warning light on a Sportcity 250

Hi,
When the vehicle is started and right after the ignition check, if there are less than 300 km (200 mi) left
to the next Service, the specific icon flashes for 5 seconds. Once the service mileage has been reached,
the icon remains steadily until the Service is reset.
The warning light can be zero set even if the mileage is lower, up to 300 km (200 mi), compared with
the Service mileage. During the 300 km (200 mi) before the service warning light comes on, the light
flashes 5 times each time the key is set to ''ON''.
The light should turn on first at 1000 km (625 mi). Successive times are strictly at 10000 km (6215 mi)
20000 km (12430 mi), etc
RESET
Hold the MODE button down.
Turn the key to ''ON'' and wait 10 seconds.
During this operation the service icon flashes.
Good luck,
Alex
PS-Don't forget to vote me, thanks!

Hi done 200 km on my Triumph america The engine knocks when hot and one exhaust is blueing cant sleep please help me

Check first to make sure your exhaust is tight at the head. Check the oil level. Your carbs have fuel screws which are covered with a plug. Take it to a shop and have them remove the fuel screw plugs. Have them synch and tune the bike, adjusting the fuel screws. Your knock should ge away. If not take it back to the dealer. Chaz Moto DC

Lexus RX 300 Yr model 2005 - Service Maintenance Tips

Hello Ben,
Service intervals in North America are oil changes at 8000 km, schedule maint with cabin filters and air intake filters, tire rotation and brake inspection, at 16,000km intervals.Given where you are located under extreme heat you could advance the intervals by 20% early.
If you have your manual package this will be detailed inside. Toyota developed a high grade oil filter years ago with exceptional filtration. If you decide to use aftermarket filters change oil around 5,000 km instead. Don't touch electronics until the vehicle indicates and issue. Trans fluid around 72,000 should be fine.
All these should be outlined in your manuals and in theh warranty cover booklet as well.
You have chosen and EXCELLENT vehicle

Where was it done, and did they use Mopar ATF4 transmission fluid? Anything else will cause problems. If it was done at a Chrysler / Dodge dealer, than take it back & explain.
