Try choking it just a little bit instead of using full choke.

1983 Yamaha Maxim 650 Just got bike a few weeks ago - engine was replaced to I believe a 750 Engine will not turn over - starter engages - all battery and electronic components and fuses looked over...

I had the same problem before when I got my bike. I was trying to start the bike and always giving throttle. I figured just start with choke on and it starts (do not give any throttle).

How do I fix a broken throttle cable on my 1985 Yamaha Maxim 750 the cable snapped when warming the bike up.

A throttle cable is best replaced. A simple process really. buy the new cable from the maker of he bike and hook it up the same way the old is taken off. Make sure it works freely.
