I have a 2006 Royal Star Tour Deluxe with a 1300 V4 engine.I would like to know if the existing stock mufflers have any kind of removable baffles or anything that could be removed to effect the sound of...

loud sound is attractive to only the rider and will attract the ire of the neighbours and the law
another point , if the manufacturers thought that a modified muffler was good for the engine , the loud mufflers would be already fitted but as the design of the mufflers also includes economy and engine life that means that a balance of economy , engine reliability and noise is struck in the factory

Need to replace muffler on 2004 buell blast

If it is a stock muffler then buy another stock muffler and put it on - they are ALL the same. Buell never changed the exhaust on the blast at all. If it is aftermarket(vance and hines) than you need to measure the pipe and find something that fits.

It backfires when i slow down and it wont idle when it is warm

1. vacuum leaks at the back side of the carb spigots or other vacuum lines off/broken. Remove the carbs and spigots from the head and clean with acetone/laquer thinner afterward sealing the spigots to the head with gasket maker/silicone rtv.
2. Carb idle and low speed jets may be plugged up and carbs need a correct cleaning.
3. Carbs need rejetting to match the after market mufflers. Take it to a shop with a motorcycle chassis dyno and they will be able to tune the after market pipes.

As long as you get a muffler that is comparable to a stock muffler then it will have no effect on the performance. Most aftermarket companies make stock mufflers that would fit your bike though it would likely be cheaper to just replace them with stock kawasaki pipes.
As to replacing them, using an impact wrench will make removal easier and be sure to use a new clamp even if the old one looks good

How do I remove the baffles on my 2011 Harley 883L?

Don't, If you want to improve the sound and performance, buy a pair of "slip on" free flowing mufflers. Cycle Shack, Vance & Hines, and many others make the mufllers. You never know when you're going to have to have a pair of "stock" mufflers and they are expensive.

Good luck

Recently bought a 2005 XB12S with a race muffler. I didn't like the popping on deceleration so I installed what the seller called the stock muffler. Stock muffler appears to have an adjustment that is...

The butterfly that attaches to that arm requires a cable that is operated by a servo. Some bikes don't need it if they told the ECM to ignore it. You should have gotten the bike tuned to remove the POPPING that was caused by the race can. The race can sounds good and gives the bike a nice kick in the HP dept. The oil light could be a loose connection or it could be the engine having a oil issue - only way to check is to put a oil gauge on there and see for yourself.

YAMAHA GT-80 1979 muffler problem

The exhaust pipe is normally spring mounted to the cylinder head and bolted to the frame.. The spring(s) may be missing and ther pipe held in place only by one or two bolts to the frame. If the frame bolts are removed and the springs are removed and the pipe seems stuck then that is exactly what is wrong. The pipie IS stuck. Just get a medium to large rubber mallet and hit the pipe away from the engine at the bend just outside the cylinder head. Carbon and or dirt have built upat the fitting and are holding the pipe in place. Why are you removing the engine?

Good Day,

Most aftermarket exhaust systems are cat-back. You defiantly need to keep the cat to comply with local emsisions regualtions. However you can remove the mufflers and replace them with high flow mufflers or resonators. Try to replace them with something not too loud so you are in accordance with noise laws in your area. I have a 2000 s10 with no mufflers, just a cat then a y-pipe to make it dual with two resonators coming straight out the back, I live in the states and made sure this sytem was 50 state street legal before I purchased it. I suggest you do the same to avoid harrasment by the police.

Good Luck

Hope this helps.
