THE ENGINE NUMBERS ARE ON THE TRANSMISSION/CRANKCASE CLUTCH COVER SIDE OF THE BIKE, YOU MUST REMOVE THE SIDE COVERS TO SEE THEM, THEY ARE ON A RAISED CASTING.

the size of the engine is what the tag is, there is another tag that is a serial or engine number. it will engine id tag will look something like this GSXR750N, pull the side cowls/fairings off u will see it right away.

if this is a 1994 750 engine the tag which is near the oil fill cap will read like this GSXR750WS,

"WS" is the 94 model year designation of the 750 GSXR engine, "N" is 92

I have an old Roadmaster bicycle. Trying to find a database of serial numbers so I can find out more info about it and what it's value might be. I know my dad bought it for me sometime in the 1950's

There is no single database of bike serial numbers. Just Google "Roadmaster serial number." Nobody can do any better than that for you. You can also check my tip for info on determining value:

I have a vintage road bike with the serial number 2940058 that is stamped beneath the bottom bracket. I have not had any luck locating the type of bike which my cousin gave to me.

A bike is not "vintage" just because it's old, and ID'ing by serial number, especially one that is all numbers, is not possible without more info. Please see my Tip for more guidance:

Looking for the make of a frame with this serial number U485606471 or U4356064171

Locating your bike's serial number. The majority of serial numbers are located under the bottom bracket where the two pedal cranks meet. Simply turn your bike upside down and record the number. If there is no serial number there then check places like the headset at the front of the bike or the rear stays.

Where is the drain plug located on a 2007 Harley Davidson Heritage Classic.

Looking under the bike up at the motor you'll see 2 drain plugs, 1 is motor and 1 is transmission.
Its easy to determine which is which because the transmission plug is vertical and the motor is horizontal.
Also you can drain the oil tank from the oil tank drain line which is plugged by a nipple on the frame. On the kickstand side of the bike, behind transmission.

Where is the oil plug located on a 2005 Harley FXR?

I didn't think Harley made the FXR anymore. I thought they discontinued that bike in 1999 or so. But, just in case, the FXR's oil tank was under the seat. The drain was located at the bottom of the tank on the left side of the bike under the triangluar shaped frame insert.

Now if the bike is and FXD Dyna Super Glide, the oil tank is on the bottom of the transmission. Under the transmission, there are two drain plugs, one is located near the center of the oil pan and this is the transmission drain plug. The engine oil drain plug is located towards the left front of the oil pan. Drain the oil with the bike on the side stand.

To determine the exact model of your bike, search the Internet for the "Harley alphabet" You should be able to find a site that helps you decode your serial number (VIN#) to determine the exact model of your bike.

Good Luck

What year is this Kenmore dishwasher Model # 665.15831791 made?

The date of manufacture is determined by the SERIAL NUMBER on the appliance. This dishwasher was manufactured by Whirlpool. The following link explains how to determine when it was manufactured:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3576437-determining_the_age_of_your_whirlpool_ap

The serial number is usually located somewhere around the door opening. The first two numbers in the serial number identify the WEEK it was manufactured (52 weeks in a year). The second DIGIT in the serial represents the YEAR it was manufactured.

If you have difficulty determining the manufacture date, please post back with your serial number and I will assist you. I hope you find this information helpful.

How old is this model, bought a house with it here and is noisy and looks old?

You did not include a model number or serial number for your Maytag. Please include this information when posting questions in the future, so that we can provide you with better assistance.

The manufacturer date is determined by the SERIAL number on your appliance. The following link explains how you can determine when it was manufactured:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r2880528-determining_age_maytag_appliance

Locate the serial number (usually located around the door opening or on the back of the control panel) and look at the last two LETTERS. Follow the link provided and you should easily be able to determine the date. If you have questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.
