It sounds as if you are experiencing 'vapour lock'.
You could try re-routing the fuel lines away from heat sources (probably not practical on a bike!) or try insulating them.

If it's just one cyl, then I doubt its timing.
Check to make sure the carb boof is tight and not leaking
also check any vacuum hoses.

From what I recall, they are accessed by removing the seat.
Take off the Pillion seat to reveal the nut for the driver's seat. Remove this and then you should have exposed the coils (amongst other things).
