Hey there boatright33,

A few things things immediately come to mind.

There may be a problem with the engine controller. You could check the ODBII onboard diagnostics. Auto part stores will usually do this for you at no cost.

When you pulled the ones that were/went bad, how did the filters look? Could there be particulate matter still in the tank causing them to fail.

I always put this one off until last. Check the injectors. Are they gummed up?

Let me know what you find out
Mike

You could have a bad pump motor in your fuel pump. You will hear the "hum" of the pump motor but it won't continuously feed enough pressue to the system.
When you prime it the engine will draw enough to run for a bit then quit. They usually dry out if not kept full and sunfire fuel pumps are noted for this type of failure.
Try a used one for about 75 bucks. My kids Sunfire did exactly the same thing.

Testimonial: "thanks. I think Im going to try that and then also replace the coil."

I would add a little Sea Foam product to oil and if you have 1/2 tank of fuel, add 1/2 can of Sea Foam to gas.
If your gas is old the Sea Foam should help.

How much gas is in the tank? Is the gas old? If you only have a few gallons in the tank i would advise you to put 5 gals of fresh gas and a bottle of sea foam gas addititve.. if you gas is old it starts to turn to varnish and gets sticky, it smells really bad too.Go to auto zone or wal mart to get the sea foam and add it to a five gallon gas can then add your fresh gas into you car tank..You can also get the sea foam in a spraycan form that you can spray directly into your air intake..Can you hear if the fuel pump is running? Take your gas cap off and put your ear up to the filler tube to see if you can hear you fuel pump working, it sounds like a high pitch whinning sound..Have someone turn the key on while you listen for it..

Thee new fuels today go bad after around 3 weeks because of the ethonol content. Put a can of Sea Foam in the gas tank see if that helps clean it out. Best bet is to drain the tank put new fuel in it with a can of Sea Foam, then give it a good long run until the tank is empty. Re fill the tank and put the correct amount of Stabil in the with the gas, this will stop the gas from turning into sugar and it works for years.
Good luck

Car dies when stoping, only sometimes, but starts right back up. No codes come up or anything, dealer said it is torque converter

poor quality gas? you may have water in the tank or its the usual worn spark plugs and wires. go to Autozone and purchase a can of Sea Foam fuel cleaner $10 and pour 1/2 can into a 1/2 tank of gas then drive car on open highway for about 30 miles this should clean out any water in system and clean any fuel injectors that maybe also causing this problem.
Now it is possible that it could be a transmission problem and Sea Foam also has a new product out called trans tune you could also put 1/2 a can in the transmission, but make sure you "dont" over fill, have a shop **** some fluid out and drive around for at least 15-20 miles the have the filter and transmission oil serviced. if it works it just saved you a lot of money. dont do then tranny service until you tired the others first.

Ran 1/2 gal bad gas truck started chugging check

Hi ! a easy way to possibly help this is to get a can of sea foam at the parts store and dump it in your tank it may help dissolve any goop that is in there and it helps renew bad gas ,also if this does not help remove your fuel filter and blow through it it may now have gotten a bit gumped up ,not a bad idea if you havnt done that for a few years anyway ,mostly the sea foam should help!

My buick sat for a year and wont start. it is fuel injected and not getting gas

You may have to drain the gas from the gas tank and replace the fuel filter. Gas that sit too long will turn in to varnish due to oxidation and will gum up the fuel injectors. Try draining the the gas tank and replacing it with new gas and replacing the fuel filter, once you have that done, *** a can of Sea Foam to your gas tank to clean out the fuel line and fuel injectors. There will be lots of smoke, but that is normal. As to how much smoke, just go on you tube and look up sea foam and you'll see how much so your not in a panic. Good luck and hope this helps. Keep me posted, be glad to help you get your car running gain.
