No starts, before new pump and after or what? both>???
why must we have to guess this vital clue?

open the glove box (3rd post same PO and same issue /car)
see operators guide, see page telling you how to understand the waring lamps, if still confuses, post a photo of them cranking.

no start,but does crank.... ?????????
some suzuki;s only run the pump cranking and running engine.
some run it for 3sec, key on, only you know this and is a matter or PCM programming. (hint, varies)

lets to the real list , no bs no guessing.

  1. battery not dead, and is charged, and head lights glow perfect.
  2. fuses good, that be first any time electrics fail, every time.
  3. key on, is CEL lamp glowing if not the PCM has no power see #2
  4. now look at all lights. in the cluster and read them
  5. is the IMMO light glowing cranking, or flashing, that means the IMMO is not happy, (immobilzer) that means use the other key you got with car new. fob. does that key make the immo happy.
  6. If IMMO is happy the engine will now run in test fuel (spark good) if not bad spark or bad engine.
  7. Connect any scan tool, crank engine, omg its telling what is wrong, amazing huh, and is a dirt cheap tool, hint buy one.

the PCM in all cars, cut fuel for 3 reasons.
1: LOST SPARK.; (dead tachometer line)
2: LOST Precursors TO SPARK, CKP OR CMP. SENSORS.
3: See's driver using wide open throttle to crank engine (read operators guide it tells how to unflood the engine this way)
the way cuts fuel, as will a bad TPS acting same way or the ground wire to TPS cut. same effect..

lots more... but the above will put you on track, for more help.

Is there a SECURITY light lit on the dash ? All anti-theft systems warn you some how if a problem is present ! The fuel pump only comes on for two seconds with key on ! When cranking the engine over if a crank pulse is see by the engine computer it will energize the relay turning on the fuel pump ! You have to check the fuel pump electrical circuit from the fuel pump relay !

It is probably not the anti theft system if it cranks over fast then slow it is your timing chain. If you want to try resetting the anti theft system disconnect the battery cables for 24 hours and reconnect them.

hi! there
car can't start, there are several factor we can consider in this
case to asssure that car will run normally.have all this check
this mostly parts of your ignition system, checka faulty coil this
give your spark plug sufficient current to burn and produce
compression.your conderser must be check also if this was
busted, your contact point must be clean, the high tension wire
should be check also replace faulty wirng, check particular
timing,and replace busted spark plug.

sounds alot the the pcm it controls the fuel pump and ign system but the anti theft would keep it from starting because the key has a transponder in it programmed for that vehicle and that would kill all ign if triggered

Fixed Check Valve (Fuel Pump Test and Replacement) on 2005 Suzuki Forenza - YouTube
If you replaced the fuel pump with a new complete fuel pump assembly you might want to run the test and see if you can change out the pump for another. It seems the most likely problem is the check valve in the fuel pump assembly.

Troubleshooting for stalling on 2005 Suzuki Forenza

vast checks. really!
EGR stuck open?
but can save the stall, with a fast right foot action,
using the wrong cap with a non suz, missing vacuum breaker will stall the pump an then engine.
stalls can be.
1: engine issues, (compression bad on one or more cyl.)
2: bad spark
3: bad fueling. in that order.
if compression good and spark at all cylinders are good.
the you check fueling.
1: are spark plugs dry , white or black carbon, and/ or dripping in fuel?
reading spark plugs works on all gas engine. 100 years span. to now.
Google how to read spark plugs.
this engine is EFI. and as such can do lots of things.
leaking injectors. clogged , or dead.
low fuel pressure.
too high fuel pressures.
at the least

My 05 forenza will not start. I believe it's something with the fuel pump but not sure. I

24days later i say
the pump runs for 3seconds each keyon.that is normal.
all that counts is full fuel pressure, if that is good, its not the pump and reg.
find a mech that can diagnose EFI.
its not hard, it done just like old carb cars.
check compresion.
check spark.
then check fueling. if no injections , then work that angle. if too much injection, that is flooding, follow that path.
no tech works this backwards or gets nowhere fast.

Car want start

You should hear the pump in the tank buzz on for a couple of seconds when you turn key to ON. It will come on and pressurize the lines, and then shut off if the computer doesn't get a cranking signal from the engine. Do you hear the hum or buzz from the gas tank? If so, pump is working alright. If no sound, then the pump has either failed, or the power to it has been interrupted.
If the pump is working, and you know the fuel filter is good, you should have fuel under pressure at the fuel rail on the engine. The only thing left for fuel to get into the cylinders, is for the injector circuit to work and pulse the injectors. Post back if you ned to test the injector circuit-very easy with a test light.
Good luck.

My 2004 suzuki forenza acts like its not getting gas when i start it but once running is a top!! Could this be the fuel filter or fuel pump?

it sure could be. is there a humming noise coming from the pump when the car is running? you could try changing the filter since it is an easy job and cheap. when you try to start does it kind of sputter before it fails to start?

Need image on the location of an egr valve

This could be your first step:
One of the first things that you should do is check to see if the fuel pump is running. You can do this by opening the gas cap and putting your ear close to it and having someone turn the ignition switch on. If you hear a loud hum then it is presumed to be working. If you don't hear the humming sound it doesn't mean the pump isn't working. It could be that there is built-up pressure of fuel in the line and the inline fuel filter is plugged. Turn off the key, remove the fuel filter that is mounted to the frame along the left rear side of frame. Place a metail container under the fuel line when removing it from filter. Turn on the ignition momentarily to confirm the fuel pump does pump fuel in to container. Install new fuel filter, turn on ignition, wait for fuel to come up to engine (4 or 5 seconds)and then crank engine over. If it starts your fuel line was plugged at the filter. If it doesn't start, your injectors could be plugged and fuel will not atomize properly. Have the vehicle towed in to sevice garage and have the entire fuel system tested and the injectors ultrasonically cleaned. You should use a fuel system cleaner like STP or GUMOUT fuel injector and system cleaner that you add to your fuel tank, so you can clean the tank, lines, and injectors as you drive.
That is a start, Good luck!! EJ Kudelka

The truck turns over but won't start.seems like i'm getting no fuel to the engine.no smell of gas

First check the fuel pump relay, then if the relay is good, listen when you turn the key for a hum from the tank. If no hum, then the fuel pump needs to be replaced ( which is in the tank), if you hear a hum and the relay is good then check the fuel regulator and injectors.
