mine does the samething. i spent a lot of time and money trying to fine out why. lets just say if i keep the rpm's up so will the battery.. a new stater and a new reckdafier yeah i cant spell but you know what iam talkin about if you know your bike... and make sure you ck our lil black box. i end up get everything all new to make mine work.. its a pain.

SOURCE: stator removal honda

There is a tool that is used, it looks like a steering wheel puller or flywheel puller. Loosen the nut, a strap tool is handing to hold the stator still while you loosen the nut. Then using the removal tool, you pull this off. reassemble by tighting the nut. You should be able to get a puller at autozone in the loan a tool program. I hope this helps

The brake may still be slightly sticking and motor is using more work. or floats may have gotten stuck

something may have broken, like a dowel on the shifting drum and jammed the mechanism.
