Start at the battery ground cable. Is it in good shape and on a clean ground connection. Work your way around to see if anything is loose or rubbed through on the frame. Check all the fuses in the fuse box. If you have a good DIY car pal get them to help, 2 sets of eyes is always useful.

The best way to find out what you are looking for is to go to your local auto parts store or the local library and check out the wiring diagram manual for the year you posted
You can go to autozone.com and register for full free online repair manual. It will have wiring diagrams, other diagrams, diagnostics, and much much more. You can find your wiring diagram here. I feel it will help you best.
Try tapping on the starter while someone else turns the key to start. If it goes you need to replace the starter brushes.Make sure that the starter cables are not rotted and that they are tight on the starter before doing this.
It could just be out of adjustment, the clutch that is. My best recommendation would be to get a Haynes repair manual on your vehicle from Auto Zone and read up on the problem there.
I' have seen 2 headlights go out at the same time. Pull the plag on one
light and see if have 12 volts with the switch on. If you have voltage
then your headlight is bad. If you do not have voltage then there could
be a bad switch or wiring problem.
