Question about Motorcycles

1 Answer

The fan clutch quit (fan won't turn) but I can't figure out what to do to fix it.

I've checked all the wiring & fuses, and a 50 amp one, would not come out. Is that the problem? Or do I need to check something else? Thanks!

I would be checking out why the 50 amp fuse would not come out. Maybe heat have partly melted it into the holder. Also check your temperature sender as the signal from this is used by the ECU to turn the fan on. There is also a fan relay that may need testing.

1995 Toyota Camry AC blew 10 amp fuse causing it, fan, electric windows, door locks to quit working. I replaced 10 amp fuse. Now AC light is steady for a few seconds, then blinks and soon blows fuse.

This fuse powers the control system and compressor clutch. Odds are you need a new compressor clutch, but you can try a slightly larger fuse--no more tham 15 amps. If the light still blinks, have someone check the amperage at the clutch. Clearly, the clutch should not be consuming more than 10 amps. The diagram is at the link below.

I ha ve a 2004 chevy trailblazer that is having overheating issues. the clutch fan is not kicking while running but will spin when moved by hand. also there is a clicking a noise which I can only assume is...

If your engine uses the fan clutch with the electric control it could be that or the system that powers the magnet in the clutch.
You may need a shop manual to get the wiring diagrams and test procedures.

Can a bad voltage regulator cause the main 30 amp fuse to blow?

Usually a bad regulator will only cause problems with charging...
Sounds like you've got a short somewhere in the wiring...I'd start by checking the ignition switch wiring and the connections going into the fuse box.

I have a 1997 Honda Accord ... the battery is okay ... it won't click or turn over ... the Hazard Lights are on continuously ... the car will start with a rolling start (it is a manual transmission)...

Hi, have you tried to bypass the interlock switch on the clutch pedal arm? Just ground the blue wire. also check the 50 amp fuse #42. if not that, the starter relay may be bad or possibly the starter itself. To check the starter, please read my post here: http://www1.fixya.com/cars/r6222268-engine_doesnt_crank_turn_over

1995 Isuzu Rodeo 4x4 6 cyl - radiator electric fan not kicking on AT ALL - can't figure out where the relay is to check it. Any ideas?

You have 2 fuse panels/boxes under the hood... 1 will have the fuse to your fan. Check them both and it will be a 15 amp to 25 amp fuse. Possibly an 'Inline' fuse, so, look along the wires (2 wires) coming from the fan to the fuse box and Battery/Car Body bolt connector/ground wire. So, 3 places to find Possibly "2" blown fuses. Easy, just don't have anything metallic in your hands while working around the battery or Fuse boxes/panels. Good Luck, I'm sure you'll find/fix it.

My aircondition on my 99 montana quit working.Replaced the blown fuse & it worked for less than a minute & fuse got blown again. Is the compressor bad?

The compressor runs off of the belt from the motor so its not likely to be the compressor but it may be the electric clutch on the compressor, or a short in the wiring, or the blower motor fan could be getting hung up. I'd buy a couple more fuses and run it for a minute a couple more times while listening for any abnormal sounds or check some of the wires you may find areas where the wires rub up against something or were accidentally damaged by any other work performed. Try running the heat and see if that trips the fuse, then run the fan on low speed, ect.

Electrical problem

When you are disconnecting the low pressure switch, or high pressure switch, you are stopping the power going to the A/C clutch. So, that means that your A/C clutch is shorted out. Unplug the compressor, and see if the fuse blows. If it doesn't you need a new clutch or compressor.
