Fuel mixing with oil and filling oil tank and cylinder.


the ethanol gas has a way of ruining the rubber tip on the needle valve (in carburetor). When the rubber tip on that valve or the rubber on the Seat go bad, gas can constantly want to fill the carburetor bowl. so much so that it runs into the engine cylinder and past the Rings to the crankcase.
You can replace the needle valve and seat in the carb which is best OR you can put an in-line shutoff on the fuel line and turn it off when you are not using the generator.
Ethanol gas.. very very bad for carburetors.

Why would gas be in oil pan


Severely worn piston rings can force fuel into the crankcase during the compression stroke. If this were the case, you should essentially have a dead cylinder though, as the compression in that cylinder would be negligible. More likely cause is leaking fuel injector filling cylinder after vehicle shutdown until fuel system pressure bleeds off, then washing down side of cylinder wall into crankcase.

1999 mercury villager gas smell in oil


There are a number of possibilities here. Oil that is very old (high mileage) will become hydrocarbon contaminated over time. This can have a gasoline-like smell. There could be a problem with the piston rings allowing fuel the run down the cylinder walls into the crankcase. This can also occur in an engine that has a misfiring cylinder since the fuel is not being burned. Lastly, a leaky fuel injector can be flooding a cylinder, either when running, or after vehicle shutdown and before the fuel pressure bleeds off. This fuel will lay in the cylinder and eventually leaking into the crankcase, contaminating the oil.

Cannot start saw because of compressionon engine, cannot pull cord because of compression. saw is a jonsered model 670.


Not being able to pull the start cord because of "compression" is usually a sign that the cylinder head is full of fuel and/or oil. Take the spark plug out and try to pull again. look at what is in the cylinder, fuel mix or chain oil. If the engine turns over, pull several time to clear the cylinder. Clean the plug and put it back. Gas/oil in the cylinder means it is leaking into the crankcase. If it is chain oil in the cylinder, there most likely is a crack in the crankcase. If it fuel look for a leak the allows the fuel to get into the crankcase when it is stored.

When the float in the carb sticks, it allows fuel to drain into the cylinder, that runs pass the rings into the crankcase. When the crankcase is full the pistons cannot go down, and the starter won't turn the engine. Drain all the oil gas mixture, and refill with proper oil. Replace float, needle and seat in the carb bowl. Throughly clean fuel passages, and bowl. If motor won't turn, remove spark plug and turn over engine a few times to remove gas oil mixture from the cylinder too.

What would cause gas and oil to come out of the air filter


Hello check your engine oil level to see if it is over filled.
Also if it is smell it to see if there is gas in the oil.
what some times happens with older motorcycles the fuel petcock o-ring or diaphram goes bad and fuel will weap into the cylinders and into the crankcase. raising the level and pushing into the air box via the crankcase breather hose.
Also check the vacuum line from the petcock if it has gas in it the diaphragm is leaking.

it's probably leaking from the carb and down the cylinder into the crankcase.
it is probably due to a stuck float in the carb. take the float bowl off and make sure it is clean. the float can also be full of gas not letting it float up and stop the gas flow. the carb will fill up and leak wherever it can which is likely the case

NOT GETTING GAS ON SEARS BLOWER


I have a craftsman 25cc blower. It is not getting fuel in the cylinder. I replaced gaskets and even the carb, no luck. When i took off the intake to replace the gasket, i pulled the start line and noticed the piston does not drop far enough to allow fuel in the cylinder.

Engine filling up with gas


there is no way for fuel to get passed the rings right? So if you filled the head with fuel, it would just work its way down the exhaust pipe and out the back, just like its doing. The only way of getting fuel into the sump is; if you have seriously bad rings (it would be burning oil) OR if its getting through the breather system. I don't even think if the injectors were on full-time, it still wouldn't get into the sump... very strange. Are you sure its not coolant? A serious coolant leak can be completely unnoticeable from the outside, but catastrophic to the inside. __________________
