Hey Lisa,
What are you needing to "time" ... the camshaft?, ignition?. IF you have taken this engine apart??.. the ignition will take care of itself when the engine is reassembled.. but you need to read one of these..
. The piston must be at TDC on the compression stroke and held there while you time the camshaft..there are marks on the cam sproket ,,(the lobes on the cam must be opposite the rocker arms.),, I am not sure exactly what the cam timing marks look like on this particular engine.

SOURCE: how do you set the timing on a 2005 honda crf150f?

if you read in the manual ull see that they tell you to take the valve covor off and set the notchess what i would do is take ur spark plug out wit the valve covor off and stick a thin metal rod it will hit the top of the pist do a couple rotation to see where top dead center is that would be at the highest point that the piston go up from there put the cam in and align the notches up from there put the timing chain on and put the tenshenor in and do another full rotation and check it then your good to go

Hi Rebecca, for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix or parts inquiry. If necessary transport your vehicle to the dealer or shop and have a professional technician take it for a test drive, if it is in running condition, and give you a written estimate of repairs and answer any specific questions you may have about your issue. 2003 CRF150f that I can't get started.

As long as you have spark and compression i would go back to the carb and pull the low speed jet out make sure it is clear and also the passage way its in this is the most common problem if a bike sits for some time the gas tends to gel and the tiny jet will easily clog up make sure its clear or the bike just wot run correctly at all.
