I would check the grounding of the Starter and make sure the Hot wire to the starter is in good shape. Sounds like you are not getting enough Amperage to the starter

HD = Hundred Dollars, voltage regulator.
Stator replacement = big dollars because labor intensive. The part is around $100, maybe more by now

The oil pan is on the bottom of the transmission. Look under the transmission and you'll see two drain plugs. The one closest to the front left corner is the engine oil drain. The one closest to the center is the transmission drain.

30 psi in the front and 36 in the rear for single rider. Two up riding, raise the rear tire to 40 psi.
