My thundercat wont start, the power comes on and my alarm works. when i start the ignition i hear a ticking coming from a small black box under ther seat but not even a whisper from the engine

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Discharged battery, needs to be 12.5 volts or better and be able to pass a load test if necessary.
4. Check the battery terminals for damage or corrosion check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
5. Bank angle sensor tripped and ignition/light key switch not cycled to the "OFF" position and then back to the "ON" position.
6. Faulty ignition switch.
7. Faulty starter button.
8. Faulty kickstand or clutch pull in switch/sensor.
9. Security alarm needs a reset.
10. Starter control circuit, relay, or solenoid faulty.
11. Main fuse or circuit breaker may be blown or faulty.
12. Electric starter shaft pinion gear is not engaging or over-running starter clutch slipping.
13. Check for engine trouble codes.

Handlebars are bent

Instructions

YZF600R (1994 - 2007)
1

Insert the ignition key into the seat lock, located on the left side of the tail fairing above the left passenger foot peg. Twist the key clockwise to release the seat lock mechanism.
2

Grasp the rear portion of the seat and lift it off of the motorcycle's subframe. Pull the front of the seat away from the gas tank until the tab under the front of the seat is free of the subframe.

3

Hold the seat over the subframe to reinstall it. Hook the seat's tab under the cross-member below the base of the gas tank.
4

Push the seat forward slightly, then lower the rear of the seat onto the motorcycle's subframe.
5

Push down on the rear of the seat until the seat lock mechanism clicks into place. Remove the ignition key from the seat lock.
YZF-R6 (1998 - Present)
6

Insert the ignition key into the seat lock on the left side of the tail fairing. 2006 and newer R6 models place the seat lock under the tail fairing, near the left rear foot peg. Twist the key clockwise to release the seat lock mechanism.
7

Grasp the rear of the passenger seat and lift it up slightly. Pull the seat toward the rear of the motorcycle until the hooks under the front of the seat are free of the tabs built into the subframe under the tail fairing.
8

Pull the rear corners of the rider's seat up to reveal both mounting bolts. Unscrew the bolts with a 5 mm Allen wrench. Lift the rear of the seat up, then pull it away from the gas tank until the tabs under the front of the seat are free of the cross-member below the base of the gas tank.
9

Slide the rider's seat tabs under the frame cross-member to reinstall the seat. Lower the back of the seat onto the subframe, then screw the mounting bolts into place with a 5 mm Allen wrench.
10

Hook the front of the passenger seat onto the tabs built into the subframe under the tail fairing. Lower the seat onto the fairing and press down until the seat lock mechanism clicks into place. Remove the ignition key from the seat lock.

Leplease explainon the safety switchs on mtd models660-679 work? I beleave my model is an intek twin. thank you

Hi,

The safety switch beneath the seat is only one part of the several interconnecting safety features of the modern riding mower. If the system works properly, you must be seated for the mower deck to operate. The tractor will continue running with the Power Take Off disengaged if the parking brake is set before the operator leaves the seat. The seat switch consists of two electrical contacts normally separated by an air gap. A spring creates an open space between the two contacts. Mounted between two plates, the switch's spring compresses under the weight of the person sitting in the operator seat and completes an electrical circuit. With the switch closed the tractor's ignition system can be switched on with the ignition key. If the operator stands, the spring forces the gap open and interrupts the electrical ignition circuit. The safety circuit allows the riding mower motor to continue running if the PTO is not engaged. When the parking brake is set a second switch in electrical parallel with the OPS closes. This bypasses the safety switch under the seat. If the operator stands, the parking brake switch still completes the ignition circuit. The mower blade turns only when the PTO engages. If the operator should leave the seat with the blade turning and under power, injuries could result. The mower blade would even continue spinning at full power if the machine overturned. To prevent this type of accident, engaging the PTO deactivates a connection in the original circuit and completes a second circuit in series with the OPS switch.

If the operator leaves the seat with the PTO engaged, the ignition interrupts and the machine stops. Until the PTO is off, no combination of settings will restart the mower.

I can't get the driver seat off of my 2002 Yamaha Roadstar 1600. Can anyone help, please?

Roadstars have a seat lock operated via ignition switch.
Insert the key into the ignition switch. Turn the key in the counter-clockwise direction as far as you can (don't push down on the key...just turn). You'll hear a click release sound from the front end of the seat. The seat front should now lift for you. Sometimes the lock can stick so you may need to push down on the seat front while turning the key to get the latch released.

My murray riding mower would not start, does not make any sound when ignition switch is on

It is probably a safety switch. The model i own has two switches - one under the seat and one underneath along the frame. Find them and tape them so the button is pushed then try to start it. If that doesn't work it will probably be the ignition has gone bad.

John deere f525 mower, wont start, battery good, ignitor good, coil good, no positive power to ignition switch, electric on off switch for cutter looks tampered with, and a safety switch below frunt of...

The front mount mower has a safety switch on the park brake linkage and the seat belt linkage as well as on under the seat which is for the PTO,The one under the seat on the linkage just behind the battery is a culprit that needs adjusting to get the PTO to engage but it sounds like you need to deal with the seat switch circuit or replace the seat switch.
