Question about 2007 Yamaha YZF-R1
I need starter clutch springs Will any other type of motorcycle starter clutch springs inter change with my 2007 v star 1100 classic
It's a plague! Very common, I bet it sounds like shaking a box of rocks when you hit the button. Your year and model has the better outfit, older models usually upgrade to yours. The crux is very few people can zero in what the exact problem is as the entire bendix style system is a "cluster". I recommend going from cheap to expensive, a thorough examination of the battery cable to the solenoid, on to the starter motor (at which point the left side cover has to come off). Now that you're in there, the "driven gears" and the spring I replace because I don't want to go back and redo anything. It's rare you can point to one part and say "there's the problem", everything may very well appear unworn and dandy. It's the culmination of wear between all these individual parts that leads to failure. If you need info on where to proceed please ask. Spend a couple bucks on a manual from say amazon for example, they lay out the job very well, the best $$$ you'll spend. Best of luck
