Hi Randy, your not alone in the I hate wiring club. First thing check to see if you blew any fuses, but don't replace them just yet. I don't know if your new bars were a tad longer causing the streching of the wiring harnesses, hold that thought. You probably pinched, cut, or broke a wire when re-installing the switch housings or handle bar controls, a common short comming among us mear mortals. Take the housings and controls back apart and check for carnage. If you find something great, repair it and leave the switch housings and controls hanging. Replace the fuses, get on your knee's clasp your hands together and offer a small humble prayer to the Harley Gods, then close your eyes cross your fingers and turn on the ignition switch. Hey it works for me. Check all your lights and turn signals, if everything works, carefully install switch housings and controls. Did the new bars come with harness dimples and are they drilled for inside wiring? Get back to me if you are still having problems, I will be waiting with breathless anticipation. Good luck

Check the fuses ...sounds like you may have fried one or two, Also that is a very tight fit where the brake light switch is....make sure you are not grounding out in the bars where the switch fits in the groove

Changed fuelpump.hear pump come on but motor does not turn over

I will give you some places to start check the starter also starter relay. The starter you may be able to tap with an object from underneath. If this doesnt do it check the relays. I need to know do the lights work radio horn? Is the battery terminals clean is the battery charged up? If the radio horn and head lights all work and the battery is good you may have a fusible link that has burned in half preventing it from starting. There is just so much that can be wrong with it but you can start with these. If you feel this was helpful please rate my assistance in helping you thank you.

2001 vstar 1100 classic, issue is when start button is pressed all I hear is a click (one only). battery appears good and even with a boost it still just clicks. Can be push started OK. is this te...

If you turn the key on, you should get a strong headlight, horn and brake light when the battery is strong. If these are weak, then the battery is dying. If the battery is strong, hitting the start button should turn the headlight OFF momentarily. If there is no change or the headlight is not coming on then the starter button could be damaged. The battery voltage should stay above 11 volts when you are cranking the engine or loading the electrical system with brake light, horn or high beam activation.

The starter solenoid is down by the battery and if you jump across the big two terminals with a screwdriver (bike in neutral, please!) that will jumper the battery power directly to the starter motor. If the battery is good, the starter should start to spin the motor over. If the battery is good and there is no sound, then the starter motor is bad. If the starter motor spins over, either the starter solenoid is bad or the wiring to it is defective.

You need a a 12v test light to check the starter solenoid wiring circuits. A good Volt meter will tell you about the state of the battery (should be over 12v resting), as well as whether the charging system is working, once you have determined that the battery is okay. You need to monitor the charging system once the bike is running to see if that is part of the problem or not. It should crank out upwards of 13.5 volts when you rev it up to about 2,500 rpms.

Check the web for V-star forums and groups who may know about any problems unique to this model.

Pt cruiser turn key wont start nothing horn lights work battery ok

I had the same problem.does your key spring back? If it doesn't take out your tumbler remove your starter ignition switch, held on by one srew, remove top and bottom plasticcouple screws, two screws on top to remove blinker switchs and lights.under tumbler casing two small screws hold shift cble remove that and in between starter switch and tumbler the rest off your ignition. remove this at the more than likely at the end the soft metal has broken so instead off it having a square end it's rounded so it can't turn your ignition you will have to replsce that unit .goodluck It has been a real pain in the *** trying ti figure it out.
