With the cap sitting on top of the hole, oil should be between marks on dipper.

SOURCE: How do you check the oil level on a 1986 honda V65

The dip stick is on the same side as the fill cap but toward the rear just behind the round part of the clutch cover, and screwed in at a downward angle. If I remember it takes about 4 quarts to do an oil and filter change on it.

i would suggest using a good 10w 40 engine oil and simply put the bike on the centre stand pouring in 2 litres to start thats if the bike has been drained empty then just top up little at a time untill oil is in the markers on the dip stick the bike will hold around the 3 litre mark from empty hope this helps

SOURCE: Steve: I have really messed up now, on pulling

i think you drained your tranny, Harley uses a oil tank that holds the oil the drian for that is a tube that runs down the bottom of the bike from the bag. if you look at the rh side of the bike ( what you put oil in) you will see the oil tank look on the bottom of that and follow the tubes one will go almost stright down thats your drain you can drop your oil there. you need to check you tranny oil. there will be a dip stick on the rh side of the tranny, if in fact you drained it you can fill it in the dip stick whole. if you have any qustions jkust let me know.

Check the level of the transmission lube with the bike standing straight up. The transmission holds between 20 and 24 ounces of oil. I always put 24 ounces in them. It should check on the dipstick without the dipstick screwed in. Do not overfill.

Good Luck

Where is the oil dip stick located on 2002 cavalier 4 cyl

If you can't see separate oil dipstick (usually has an yellow plastic handle), then your oil level dipstick is connected to oil filler cap. When you unscrew the oil cap you'll be able to see the dipstick and level meter.

How do you check the oil level on a 1983 Honda V45

Center stand your motorcycle. If you have an Interceptor have a friend hold the bike upright. Unscrew the dipstick on the back of the right engine cover. Part #4. Wipe off the dip stick and place it back into the opening but do not screw it in. Pull the dip stick out and make sure the oil level is between the high and low mark. If the level is low add only JASO MA certified motorcycle oil designed to work in engines with transmission gears and wet clutches.

How much oil what wt.

Most any kind of 4-cycle motor oil like 10W-30 will work in these motors. After draining the old oil replace the drain plug. There are two types of motor oil fill holes: 1. If you have a motor with the oil fill/check hole on the bottom of the motor and a small screw-in plug either with or without a small dip stick on it; with the motor level, fill the crank case with oil until it is up to the threads on the oil fill/check hole. 2. If you have a motor with a long dip stick that goes into a filler tube at the top of the motor, again with the motor level, put in about half a quart of oil and use the dip stick to check the oil level. If not full, add quarter quart amounts and check again until the oil is at the full mark on the dip stick. Do not overfill the crank case with oil. Most motors will take about one quart of oil but it varries so watch to see the oil level come up to the proper level.

There is a dip stick located on the right side of the engine about 4 inches to the front of the oil fill cap.

Make sure you are on level ground. Unscrew the dip stick and wipe it off. Replace the dip stick and then remove again. Check the oil level and replace. If you need to add oil, remove the filler cap and add oil 1 to 2 ounces at a time. Check the oil dip stick to ensure that your oil level is correct.

NOTE: warm up your bike before performing the above checks.

How do I check the transmission fluid in my 2001 cadillac catera

There is no dipstick on the 01 Catera or any Catera for that matter (97 to 01) also same transmission used on 3 series BMWs.

I have 2 - 2001

It's a sealed transmission. There are fluid drain plugs, one at side of the tranny and one at the bottom. Jack the car up from the front on a level surface. Place a hose to a funnel and remove the top filler access plug (the side one). Insert the hose here and fill the funnel until fluid leaks out the side hole (make sure you have a catch pan). Then drop the car and let the excess fluid level out from the fill hole. Raise the car again and wipe away the excess fluid and re-install the filler plug.
