Hi Curtis, when checking for spark the CKP needs to measure the compression bump in order to send the correct signal to the ICM/ECM so always check for spark with either a third plug grounded or lift the end of the plug boot 1/2 " off one of spark plugs that are in the head. and the usual suspects are:
1. Fuel tank empty
2. Fuel supply valve turned off.
3. Fouled spark plugs.
4. Engine flooded with gasoline as a result of over use of enrichner.
5. Fuel valve or filter clogged.
6. Vacuum hose to automatic fuel supply valve disconnected, leaking, or pinched.
7. Discharged battery, loose or broken battery connections.
8. Loose wire connection at coil, battery or plug between ignition sensor and module.
9. Spark plug cables in bad condition and shorting, spark plug cable connections loose,
or cables connected to wrong cylinders.
10. Ignition timing incorrect due to faulty ignition coil, ignition module, or sensors " Manifold Absolute Pressure" "Camshaft Position Sensor" "Crank Position Sensor" "Brake Apply Sensor
11. Engine lubricant to heavy ( winter operation )
12. Sticking or damaged valves or push rod wrong length.
13. Primary cam sproket spline sheared or missing spacer.
14. Security alarm system not disarming.

The torque specs are the same as with any Evolution engine. The compensator sprocket 150-165 foot pounds.
Clutch hub nut (left handed threads) 60-80 foot pounds.

Use Loctite 271 on threads. Two lines in nut on Compensator and one line in clutch hub nut.

The drain plug is on the bottom of the transmission. There are two there and the engine oil drain is the one that is the "most prominent". It's usually on the left front corner of the oil pan. The oil tank takes three quarts when the filter is changed as well. If you don't change the filter add only two quarts and check using the dipstick. Once filled, check the oil using he dipstick while the bike is on the side stand. There are two marks. The upper mark is the "FULL HOT" mark and the lower mark is the "FULL COLD" mark. Do not overfill.

It could be your battery or most anything. If you watch the bike after it shuts down with the switch on, does the power come back on after a few minutes? If so, you're tripping your main breaker for some reason. The reason for the main breaker tripping is that something on the bike is pulling way too much current for some reason.

Now, if your battery voltage is dropping below 11 volts when you're trying to start your bike, the starter motor (as well as everything else on the bike that's running) will draw more current to make up for the lose of voltage. Simple DC circuitry theory. Ever see a car that won't start but the battery burns up the battery cable? That's because the battery has a shorted cell and is supplying only ten volts. So, the starter draws more current to make up for the lose in voltage. It draws enough current to cause the large battery cables to heat up and burn the insulation. Burns the starter up too. Take your battery out of the bike and take it to an automotive parts store. Ask them to load test the battery for you.

If that's not the problem, there's something on your bike drawing too much current. Maybe a dead short somewhere. I'm betting my two cents on the battery though.

Had bad battery and had to jump my 04 road king was cranking and then quit . wont run now .. wrong lights come on when key is on


Looks like you may have incorrectly jump started your bike. If you have, then possible major damage - ECU - regulator - stator - the list could be endless. People often put + to - and this means reverse polarity. Same as putting you battery in backwards. Bang.

CHECK OIL TO GAS MIX COULD BE BURNING TO MUCH GAS. IF NOT CHECK ALTERNATOR STATOR MAGNITO WHICH EVER ONE YOU GOT.

I have a 1990 flhtc when i run my lights my bike wont start till i charge my batery up to full charge


Sonds like your bike may have a charging problem (regulator or stator) and you most likely need a new battery.
