I have a 50cc renegade scooter cuts out after 30 seconds.

I have a 50cc renagade scooter it starts fine. but When I try to ride It runs for about 30 seconds And cuts off.I tried all Adjustments on carburetor With no improvement.what Else could it be?

People always go straight for the carb but if its chinese which i highly suspect it is the problem Will be the valve clearances are too tight in partucular the exhaust valve.

    yes i just checked and that is what will be as i recognise the bike ,its the same as the Peugeot v-clic and loads of other chinese mopeds like direct bikes db50 qt9 they all use the same qmb engine that has valves made of chocolate.set the exhaust valve to .08 mm and the inlet to .05mm and i bet all your problems end.

have dafier qt 50 starts first time on kick start,do a run about 10 miles runs ok, turn of motor, then it is very hard start.

SOURCE: quad bike keeps cutting out


ALWAYS have a fire extinguisher on hand when working on carburetors.
Remove the water trap bowl at the bottom of the petcock, (gas valve). Is there any water or trash in the bowl? Drain a cup of gas from the tank. Is there any water or trash in the cup? Dump it, clean it and re-mount it, ( not all bikes have a water trap bowl ).

Drain the carburetor. There may be a screw on the lower side of the carb float bowl. Remove the screw then replace it after the fuel drains. Turn the gas back on and wait a minute for the carb to fill with gas. If the bike doesn't start and run properly then shut off the gas and remove the carburetor from the engine.

Remove the float bowl and clean the entire carb with a spray carb cleaner from the auto parts store. Wear protective goggles to avoid getting spray in your eyes. Spray into all the little airways and fittings in the carb. Remove the idle screw and the air screw on the outside throat of the
carb and spray into the screw holes as well.

Be sure to put these two screws back in the same hole they came out of. IMPORTANT > do not tighten these two adjusters down. Only screw these in until they LIGHTLY seat. Now turn each adjuster one and one half turns outward. Before putting the slide back in the throat of the carb, move the clip on the jet needle one notch lower. Put the rest of the
carb back together, clean the air filter and install the carb. Let the float bowl fill then start the engine. This process should get you back on the road.

You may need to adjust the fuel/air ratio. There is a small screw under the pull starter facing horizontally (its behind the plastic air filter cover, but accessable) adjust either clockwise or counter clockwise in small increments and give it gas and see if it dies or boggs down. Also check that spark plug is clean and not fouled, and air filter is clean and oiled.

Scooter will start inentionally but will not continue to run?


Try replacing the spark plug,, careful not to cross thread the plug when you replace it,,,

50cc scooter lack of power from 0 to 10mph


Fuel mixture is too rich. The easiest way I adjust those is to have a friend stand in front of the scooter, holding the wheel and handlebars still while I lightly hit the throttle and at the same time, adjusting the fuel mixture screw on the carburetor slightly. applying the throttle harder while adjusting, you should feel the scooter gain or lose power.
