Question about Suzuki Motorcycles

Why won't my Suzuki SJ50QT 2006 scooter start?

I rode the scooter for a couple of weeks and parked it up for a week and it won't. It was low on 2 stroke oil so I topped the sccooter up and it still won't start.

Why won't my Suzuki JS50QT start?

Hi,first of all you need a spark,so pull the sparkplug out and check for spark, then is there any petrol coming through, check for fuel,
then you need air, check that the air filter is not derty,
if all these are ok I would do a compression test to see if the reed valves are falty or the piston rings are worn,if ok,
then check that the exurst is not cloged up with gunk.
if you check in this order then you should find the falt.
lets hope its the first one,let me know how you got on,
hope this helped a bit.

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Fuel tank empty.
2. Fuel supply valve/petcock turned off.
3. Fouled spark plugs.
4. Engine flooded as a result of overuse of the enricher.
5. Vacuum hose to the fuel supply valve/petcock disconnected, broken, cracked, or pinched.
6. Fuel valve/petcock or filter clogged.
7. Fuel line to the carburetor or throttle body pinched or kinked.
8. Carburetor float stuck.
9. Fuel injectors clogged.
10. Severely discharged or damaged battery you need 12.5 volts or better and be able to pass a load test if necessary.
11. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
12. Loose or corroded wire connection at the coil, battery or plug between ignition sensor and CDI box.
Spark plug cables in bad condition and shorting check for leakage in the dark, cable connections loose, or connected to the wrong cylinders.
13. Ignition timing incorrect due to a faulty MAP, CKP, O2, TPS, sensors.
14. Faulty neutral, clutch lever, or kickstand safety switch.
15. Faulty fuel pump or fuse or relay.
16. Faulty CDI box.

NzWhat sort of charger would we need to charge the battery at home of our SJ50QT scooter? Thanks

If the battery is 12V, which i think it is, than any small 12V charger, the plug in trickle charger is the best, i have 3 of these and leave them connected 24 hours 7 days a week on my toys (bikes+car) which i dont use regularly.

Did you remove the battery from the scooter before charging? The scooter circuitry may be giving the charger false readings.

Can you try to jump start the scooter using a car and some jumper leads? If it starts that way, then your battery is dead.
