Possibly an intake valve isn't fully closing or the camshaft could be a quarter turn out. Should at least check valve tappet clearance. If it persists, do a compression check.

I have a artic cat 250 atv 2007 model. it starts cutting out at about half throttle

Odds are it's the carb. Start with a clean air filter and box, check and make sure your plug is good. Pull the carb and disassemble and clean with carb cleaner. Blow it out with air, check all air passages. I summarized this of course. 90% of the time it will be crud in the carb.

I have had my generator for 11 months. Every 3 months I take it out, start it up - let it run with a load, usually a hair dryer. Today - when I turned the fuel valve to the on position, fuel started to...

Sounds like a stuck float or debris between needle and seat. Try removing bowl on carburetor and fuel line, then gently blow compressed air in carb through fitting where gas enters the carb. Be careful not to have air set too high you could blow seat out of carb. You just want to blow out any debris that is causing needle to not seat. Reinstall bowl and fuel line and try again. If problem persists you will have to remove carb and do a thourough cleaning. Good luck and happy wrenching

My rm 80 will start and run but when just ideling it will stall, is it something to do with the carb?

Those little carbs on these tiny thumpers clog easily. You'll probably have to pull the carb, soak it in carb cleaner, blow it out with compressed air (be sure to wear chem-proof gloves and a face shield or at least eye protection--carb cleaner's nasty and when you blow it with compressed air, it goes everywhere). Reassemble, and it should run fine. We had a TTR125 and we had to clean the carb this way every year before riding season.

Model 128 cd string trimmer carb problems

You may have damaged the carb by blowing out with air. Carbs contain tiny one way valves which are very delicate and can be damaged by cleaning with airlines. Do you have a good continuous spark? Do you have good compression.? Is fuel getting into the cylinder.?

Saw starts when choked, stops in run position - stihl 026

This indicates the engine is starving for fuel. The choke blocks air flow, thus the engine can pull a richer...(more fuel), mixture, which is required for cold starts and during the warm up period. When you switch the choke off, it allows a larger volume of air, thus leaning out the fuel air mix. This indicates that you probably have a blockage, either in the fuel line or the carb. First check lines and filters for clogging, if that is all good, then the blockage is in the carb and will require removal and cleaning. You can soak in carb cleaner then blow out with compressed air..make sure to remove any visable plaque build up. Pay particular attention to jets...(this is the most common carb problem area)..Before blowing, take note of any seats..(looks like an o ring) in the jet holes and be careful not to blow them out. Good Luck! I hope you find this to be very helpful!

2007 ttr 125 wont start unless hand is over the back of carb. also wont idle.At mid and high range it runs fine. There are no air leaks and no adjustment screw for the air/idle just a factory plug.

Time for carb cleaning, blow the jets with compressed air and check the fuel level in the float chamber, adjust if necessary.
Tht factory plug is where the air-mixture screw is and tht plug has been kept there for non tampering!
That screw is factory set.
Basically its the primary jet which is a problem in your bike's carb, but all in all might as well blow both of them.
Hope this helps!
