Each wire will be taken from a different part of the stator winding. There will be an electrical resistance difference between all 3. You will probably have to compare what these measurements are from another stator that does have a connector to confirm what wire goes where. Mark each wire as you test it with a bit of coloured tape or marker.

Also I have a book that tells me the readings for the connector, my problem is I need to know where to place the wires on a connector and I don't know which one is number one for the connector to test 2 and three"

if you measure between the wires of the good stator you will be able to work out which wire goes to which plug. Using your book, you can then determine which wire goes to each connector socket.

Hi these wires are all the same it is a three phase generator they all carry the same current when working so it doesn't matter what way they connect. Just connect white to white on the machine the regulator/rectifier will do the rest. Regards Jim...

How do i determine where the 3 x white wires from the pickup on the stator go to?

these wires go straight to the regulator/rectifier they are the charging wires they carry unregulated voltage of the ac type.on the regulator you will see 3 white or yellow wires these go to them ,it doesn't matter which way around these 3 wires go as they are all doing the same job trust me i have wired thousands up.

Why do the three white wires from stator to rectifier keep melting on my 2000 yamaha yzfr6

Disconnect the wire connections and OHM them out to ground. If you have a short to ground the wires will melt.

I have a 83 kawasaki kz1100 i want to know how to install a stator because the three wires from the stator are black and the other three from the regulator wires are yellow how can i know which wires go...

Originaly the 3black wires would have been yellow sounds like its been rewired, you can connect any one to any yellow as this is a 3 faze alternator and they all throw ou the same power, before you do so,(with the ignition key removed) use a multimeter set to ohms put red lead to one wire record the reading when you touch the black wire to one of the other two wires, next move the black and record reading to the other of the two wires, this will determin that you have continuity around the three circuits

My honda shadow is not charging. I think that it is the stater. How hard is that to replace?

Uf, first check connector for three wires coming from top left side engine cover. Connector can get bad and no electric is passing through. Start the bike and measure between + and - on battery. If you have over 13,5V/DC your fine. If you have a jumping DC (from 16- 19V/Dc) rectifier is bad, Stop engine, Disconnect the three stator wires connector and Measure between the three yellow wires on Ohms if they are connected, if yes, Stator is o.k.
Usually Stator is last one to go bad.

White is usually always power FROM the S (Starter) terminal of the Key switch to the clutch pedal switch then on to the start solenoid. For briggs and stratton key switch terminal 4 is used for starter power. The model number you passed is for the engine only.

Without your riding mower model number I can not even begin to guess for sure. If you can locate the mower model number I will look it if and see what I can find.

Tri-circuit Diode Wire

Green Connector

with 2 diodes leading to 1 Red Wire and

1 White Wire

Red Wire = 2-5 Amp DC unregulated for

battery charge
White Wire = 2-5 Amp DC negative for lights

This is the usual wiring off of the QUAD regulator.

Yellow Connector 2 Yellow Wires

White Connector

Black Wire = 8 Amp DC unregulated for lights

Red Wire = 8 Amp DC regulated for battery

Small magnets Quad Circuit
20 Volts AC @ stator

I really need an explantion of where your trying to connect to and from. I am thinking your connecting from the engine alternator. IF you replaced the alternator... depending on which alternator you purchased there is a modification that has to be done to wiring harness of the alternator to the regulator.

How can I detemine type of stator in my mower without disassembly

If you have two wires coming from under engine shroud, a black and red, plugged into a connector with a white and black wire going to the mower, It's a Dual Circuit alternator.

Yz250F has no spark

your pickup coil is most likely bad.there are five wires coming out of the left stator side. three yellow or white and the other two are the pickup coil. trace them to the connector under the seat or tank . unplug the connector and check for continuity, if none is there , the pickup coil it is bad. yamaha sells the stator and the pickup coil together. very costly , you can buy the pickup oil off ebay for about $30.00.
becareful as the screws holding the pickup coil in are lock tited in and need to be heated to remove them without damage.
