bad battery
or dead charging system.
rusty battery terminals.
check battery voltage parked key in pocket, see 12.65vdc.
if lower , on a warm day the battery is discharged
or at 30F it must be.12.58vdc, rested, if not the battery is discharged
or battery is bad.
if discharged , then charge it.
and fix the bad charging system.
ok you jump start car.
and the battery voltage is 13.3 to 15vdc, if not the charge system is failing, or engine RPM below 800.
if running voltage is below 13.3v the charge system is failing running.

My brake lights will not turn on when I have the headlights on but it will turn on when the headlights are off. How do I fix this?

Your battery and/or your alternator is/are weak.
Proceed to Pep Boys/AutoZone/Advance Auto Parts, where they'll do a free "charging system test",
which will tell you which charging system component (battery or alternator) is weak.
If its the battery, they'll install your new battery for you free, as well.

My car won't start, you hear one click, but nothing, we have to jump it to get to start. The alt. and the batt. and the starter work fine.. Plus our headlights don't work.

If the vehicle need to be jumped then the battery is too weak to start the car.
1. replace battery
2. with good battery start car and check charging system If voltage reads below 13volts possibly the alternator is bad.

Check bulb in headlight ( do not touch the glass part of the head lamp)
a good way to check is replace one with a new one see if it comes on.
If not check fuse for the headlamps ( I am assuming you are talking about low beams)

Headlights not working; found out battery was not getting charged ,how do you test to see if the stator and rectifier are working properly

get the bike running(jump start or with a freind push start)take a volt meter and put it on the 20volt scale and put the red lead on the + and the black on the -. If you get12.5- 15 volts than your charging system is working fine and it would be the battery that is not taking the charge. As for the headlight check fuse if ok then pull headlight and use a testlight to see if you have power at the plug. Also check the wires for good conection in the headlight pot. I hope this helps let me know.

I have headlights but no power inside or to start

Lights will work with a weak battery. Try jumping the truck with another vehicle first. If it starts watch your volt meter and see if it charges up. If you have a indicator light instead watch that. If it flickers the diode is bad in the altenator. If the gauge is present and not charging the altentor is bad. Chack all wiring to the battery and the altenator for loose or corroded connections first. It maybe an easy fix
