Hi, Isaac and the usual suspects are:
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Discharged battery, needs to be 12.5 volts or better and be able to pass a load test if necessary.
4. Check the battery terminals for damage or corrosion check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
5. Tip over sensor needs a reset.
6. Faulty ignition switch.
7. Faulty starter button.
8. Faulty kickstand or clutch pull in switch/sensor.
9. Starter control circuit, relay, or solenoid faulty.
10. Main fuse or circuit breaker may be blown or faulty.
11. Check for engine trouble codes.

My bike bike runs on main tank even on low fuel..it somtimes shows some missing. I think my reserve tank doesn't work.Any suggestions?

Check the reserve fuel line and the main fuel line to make sure they haven't been switched. I purchased a Suzuki Intruder and was riding all the way to reserve to check the mileage and when I ran out I couldn't start it even though I switched to reserve. Turns out that someone had the tank off to service the air cleaner and had reversed the two fuel lines so the fuel valve was running the bike on the reserve tank tube. so when I switched to the reserve position it was hooked to the taller brass tube in the tank and the gas level was already below it. The tanks just have two brass tubes, one taller than another so gas cannot be sucked below the taller tube when on main and then when switched to reserve it sucks from the shorter tube allowing the remaining gas to be used.

The petcock valve on the Bigboy TSR 250. What position must the valve handle be when driving. Please explain the 3 positions on the valve.

Is the tap vacuum operated? There will be a pipe from the carb to the tap if there is, and when the engine is running the vacuum from the carb pulls on a diaphragm and opens the flow.
If this is the case, the 3 positions are "PRIME", "MAIN" and "RESERVE".
Disconnect the pipe from the outlet of the tap, but be prepared for fuel to come out. If it does, then the tap is set in the prime position so move it to another setting to stop it. If it doesn't start flowing then the tap is set to main or reserve.
Main and reserve are self explanatory and are standard on most bikes, but prime is not on as many. Never ride on prime as this just allows fuel to flow freely and is only used to start a long standing bike or one that has been run to empty. It does what it says and primes the carb. Once running switch over immediately to main or reserve.

Gas tank

no...Full is on...res is reserve...Pri is Prime.
Do not leave it on prime !!! This is for re-filling the carbs when they have been emptied.
It is a vacuum operated tap, when switched to full or reserve, fuel only flows when the engine turns over...prime flows fuel all of the time.
The tap should be set to full unless fuel is running low.
Leaving it on prime when not running can lead to serious engine damage !!!

What would cause stalling and hard start ?

Dirt inside the fuel line, pump, or needs a new fuel filter. Always happens when you run out and suck fumes/dirt into it. Worst case, the needle pin or gasket on the carburetor has damage. Make sure you have a good air filter with this heat, and time of year to prevent vaper lock.

I'm trying to find a way to be notified when my gas level is low. I ran out of gas today and had to switch to reserve without any notice. Is there a way to get a fuel gauge attached the the 2011 Suzuki...

Many bikes don't have a gas gauge. For some reason most cruisers don't. Most people just zero the odometer and use that to determine what level you tank is at. On my Honda VTX 1300 I need to flip to reserve somewhere around 200 km, so i just fill at that point. I used to have a honda shadow 750 that used to be about 190 km. This is really the only way to track it. I have yet to see a gas gauge for these cruisers that's not excessively expensive. Hope this helps!

I have a 1997 Cbr Honda Blackbird. The fuel **** was in the off position and the bike ran ok for months. Why would the **** be in this position and would turning it to the on position pose a problem or...

Chances are what you are calling the "off" position is actually the "Reserve" position. Fuel valves usually have two inlet points. The top inlet section feeds the "On" position. The bottom inlet feeds the "Reserve" position. When the gas level in the tank gets lower than the "On" inlet, you must switch to the "Reserve" inlet to continue riding until you run out of gas or refill the tank. Please rate my answer.
