1984 Z28 engine vibrations after wieght was removed from flywheel. soulution?

Why did you remove the weight? The weight was there to balance the flywheel. By removing it you have thrown the flywheel out of balance, thus the vibration. You will need to have the flywheel rebalanced.

Washer will not spin with very light loads or heavy loads (i.e. cotton bath matt). Must be mfg. defect, has done this since I bought it apparently, but was months before I had wash one article by itself....

Hi, Actually the "fix" for the problem you described is quite simple and not a manufacturer's defect at all. You must add another item of similar or equal mass/wieght. Most front load washer's will never reach their true spin potential with only one item in the basket, they aren't designed to. The motor "dyno" measures the balance of the load by way of resistance or if you like "wieght differential". If the dyno consistently senses more wieght on either side of the basket it will advance to the "off" position and subsiquently "skip" the spin, hence saving your washer from major damage. This is a good feature trust me. Try that out, I hope it helps you and explains why sometimes the washer doesn't spin the clothing/articles out satisfactorially. Good Luck :)

Balance beam scale

First, with scale empty, set all wieghts to their zero positions. Set zero adjustment so that the indicator is on zero. Place sample on scale and, working from heaviest to lightest, set each wieght to one notch less than what would overange indicator. When all wieghts have been set add the values of each wieght position.
