I gather its a dual fuel bike? ( Petrol and gas) On cars that are dual fuel, the engine will always start on petrol and switch to gas after its warmed up. If the engine is warm, it will start on gas. I assume bikes are the same. However, LPG can freeze when it is injected through the fuel system. On cars, a preheating arrangement is installed, usually by having the gas pass through a coil or tank that is heated by the engine coolant. As bikes don't often have coolant, I would imagine that a sensor prevents the gas flow until the bike engine is warm enough to stop the gas from freezing when being injected..

SOURCE: difficulty starting

darn thing wouldnt start after I fueled it up. After sitting for 10 min it fires right up and runs great. When starting cold it fires right up with no prob. Someone told mevapor lock is my issue this sound right ? and if so what is vapor lock and how do I prevent it ? thx all for your support.,The vapor lock situation happened to me a few times with my 748, so it CAN happen. To test this theory, just fill your tank to 1/2 of what it normally holds, next time you fill it. Or pop the cap off right now and let it sit for 10 minutes and close it back up again. Al your doing is releasing the pressure on the system. Will this do any good? Well, had always been filling my tank too high and once I realized that popping the gas cap, would release the pressure, I never had a problem after.,,,

SOURCE: DR 200 runs really cold. Takes about 15 minutes or so to warm up

It depends on the tempature, if its pretty chilly out yeah. Try easing the choke in slowly, and when it will idle at about half choke go aheand and take off but run the bike easy for a few minutes then close the choke.

SOURCE: have problems starting yamaha xvs 1100 dragstar

Hi there fellow XVS dragstar owner!

I had the same problem before. It is usually caused by the wrong jets installed. have it Replaced with the standard jets that came with it... this will solve the problem on acceleration. Make sure the fuel and air mixture knob is set to 2.5 turns-out from full close. clean the spark plugs.. better, replace it with a new one to ensure clean burning of fuel. also, use unleaded gas. this burns better.

hope this helps

SOURCE: Yamaha TW 200 starts but won't run.

If the bike has sat for a long period of time without being run - the gas that is sitting in the carb(s) will shellac.. Then the carb(s) would need to be cleaned and "rebuilt"..

SOURCE: Yamaha TW 200 cuts out at high rpm

I have a tw200 and when I have this problem its from the cam chain slipping back a notch when I unload it from my truck. I leave it in gear so when I let off the cluch it acts as a brake. I ride by my self so thats why I load it that way. I am guessing you load and unload your tw the same way. So remove the timing cover and make sure you are tdc on both the upper and lower timing marks. The bike will run if the timming is off a bit. It's really easy to set the timing on these bikes. It's easier to look for how to on the xt 200 if you need more help.

Two things:
1 Is fuel coming out of the fuel line. Older mowers have old fuel lines and they tend to get weak and collapse went they warm up with engine heat. Replace the old fuel line.
2 deposits in the carb. take off the air cleaner, start it up and spray a good carb cleaner in the carb until the engine dies. Put some 'seafoam' in the gas and a little in the oil and put the air cleaner back on and start the mower and mow on FULL THROTTLE. this should claen out the carb. Yes the mower will run rough for awhile.

these two cheap fixes will solve 85 % of carb problems. GOOD LUCK

Make sure you've covered the basics: fuel petcock should be in the "on" position; ignition must be in "on" position; kill switch must be in the "run" position; bike should be in neutral. Make sure there's fresh gas in the tank. Check the oil through the sight glass on the right side of the engine, with the motorcycle balanced and level. Check the spark by taking out the plug and holding against the engine while you crank the starter. There should be a blue spark that appears with every second revolution of the engine. Check the gas flow by pulling the gas tube off the carb and turning on the petcock under the gas tank. Gas should flow freely from the tube. If all of these tests check out okay, you may have a carburetor problem, such as a plugged jet. This is quite common if the bike hasn't been used for some time. Removing the carb and cleaning it isn't overly daunting. Check the TW200 forum at There's lots of info there. Also, download a copy of the shop manual. Good luck.

How much warm up time does a dodge sprinter 2500 diesiel require in the winter time?

At idle it can take hours to fully warm up

If your concerned about driving it right away after starting, not a big issue.....start, let it warm a min or two then drive.

Diesels warm slower than gas engines, and they take longer to get warm enough to give you heat untill fully warmed up.

Normally you should see good temp and good heat after driving about 15 minutes after the first cold start of the day.
