I have a 2009 yamaha r6 and it recently started shutting off on me. I was on the freeway doing a steady 70mph and my bike turned off. Any advice?

Remove the fuel "turncock" from the bottom of the gas tank. I'll bet you'll find that it's full of gunk and debris. What I did was clean it out with carb cleaner then removed the fuel tank, emptied it except for about a cup of gasoline. Then I put about 6 small nuts and bolts in it and shook it around really well. The nuts and bolts knocked all kids of debris loose from the bottom of the tank. I then removed the nuts and bolts, put the fuel line back on and she started right up! Hope thus helps.

Yamaha v star wiring diagram

The connection is under the seat, however, the lines go up the underside of the tank. You will need to pull the tank in order to remove the speedo properly. Once you take the seat off, there will be two bolts holding the tank down (under the front of the seat, at the bottom of the tank). Turn your fuel petcock to off, remove the fuel line from the carb feed, remove those two bolts under the seat near the bottom of the tank, lift up a bit and wiggle the tank off of the front mounts, and the tank is free. Now you can get under the tank and get the wires out without damaging things.

Where r the plugs on gsxr750t srad plz

Remove the rider's seat, using an Allen socket to unscrew the pair of bolts that secure the rear of the seat to the frame. Lift the rear of the seat upward then pull the seat toward the rear of the motorcycle to disengage it from the frame's catch tabs.

  • 2 Remove the pair of bolts that secure the front of the gas tank to the frame. Lift the fuel tank upward on the pivot at the base of the tank. Support the fuel tank against the frame using the tank's support rod.
  • 3 Remove the air box. Pull the three air hoses from the air box. Loosen the clamps on the air box's rubber boots with a screwdriver, and pull the air box out of the motorcycle.
  • 4 Pull the four coil packs out of the motor's cylinders. Clear any dirt and debris that has accumulated on top of the cylinders with compressed air, directing the air into the spark plug holes that the coil packs were installed in. Remove the spark plugs using a spark plug socket attached to a socket extension.
  • 5 Install new, properly gapped spark plugs into the motor with a spark plug socket. Tighten the socket until it is seated firmly against the motor. Reinstall the coil packs onto the spark plugs.
  • 6 Reinstall the air box, tightening the clamps on the rubber boots to secure the air box to the throttle bodies. Reconnect the trio of air hoses to the air box.
  • 7 Remove the tank support rod and lower the fuel tank onto the frame. Insert and tighten the fuel tank bolts with an Allen socket. Reinstall the seat, firmly tightening the mounting bolts with an Allen socket.

How do i remove the tank from my 2003 Honda Shadow VTO750DC. got the bolt removed but don't know if there is another bolt or clamp holding it down still. Tried to lift the tank up and still seems...

There should be two bolts holding your tank on. One is near the handlebars and the other should be between the tank and the seat. You may need to remove your seat to get to that bolt. You will need to remove your fuel line from the tank also.

    Where is the fuel pump

REMOVE THE REAR BACK SEAT BOTTOM TO GAIN ACCESS, THE SEAT IS HELD IN BY 2 BOLTS. YOU WILL NEED A 10MM OR 12MM SOCKET TO LOOSEN THE SEAT. BOLTS ARE LOCATED BETWEEN THE SPACE WHERE THE SEAT MEETS THE SEAT BACK. WHERE THE REAR SEAT BELTS COME OUT. WHEN BOLT ARE REMOVED PUT YOUR HAND BETWEEN THE SEAT AND PULL UP YOU WILL SEE WHERE THE FRONT HALF OF THE SEAT IS SECURED BY A 'L' SHAPE BRACKET LOCATED IN THE FRONT HALF OF THE REAR SEAT GOING INTO THE FLOOR BOARD.

    HOW TO REPLACE SPARK PLUGS

Follow this steps on how to replace the spark plugs,

      1. Locate your spark plugs before beginning. Accessing the spark plugs can vary greatly depending on the model of motorcycle. The Ninja series bikes place the spark plugs near the top of the motor, hidden beneath the fuel tank and air box.

      2. Remove the seat and fuel tank. Locate the bolts that secure the fuel tank to the frame and remove them with a socket wrench. Lift the fuel tank upwards and disconnect the fuel lines. Pull the entire tank away from the motorcycle and set it aside.

    • 3. Unscrew the air box lid with a screwdriver and remove. Remove the air filter and locate the bolts that secure the air box to the motor. Unscrew the bolts with a screwdriver and pull the air box off of the motor. Take note of the locations of any wiring or hoses that may be attached to the air box before disconnecting them.

      4. Pull the spark plug wire off of the first spark plug and clear the plug cavity with compressed air to remove dirt or debris that may been trapped. Remove the spark plug with a spark-plug socket. If needed, use a socket extension to reach the spark plug in the cavity.

      5. Insert a new spark plug into the cavity and carefully tighten with a spark plug socket. Slide the spark plug wire onto the end of the spark plug and press down until the wire clicks into place.

      6. Repeat as necessary for any remaining spark plugs. Reinstall the air box and reconnect any hoses or wiring removed earlier. Insert the air filter into the air box and seal the lid by tightening its bolts with a screwdriver

      7. Reinstall the fuel tank, reconnecting the fuel lines and tightening the mounting bolts with a socket wrench. Replace the seat.

      Thank you

I am trying to remove the petrol tank of my Honda Varadero 125 v3 to change the air filter and I just cant do it, Have removed the top and bottom screws from the air filter cover but cant get the tank...

You didn't say for sure what year your 125 is. If it is an older bike '85, the tank has a single bolt at the back. Remove the bolt and shove the tank to the rear of the bike about 2 inches to clear the rubber mounts, then lift upward. See diagram. I haven't worked on any newer 125s but if the picture in the posting is what you have, the seat will probably need to be removed to get to any mounting bolts for the tank.
