It sounds like ignition to me. Most likely coil or stater. I would start with the coil.

2008 Road King Stage Two. Bike would not accelerate. Got up to 25 mph in 3rd gear. Pulled off to call Roadside Assistance. Shut bike off. Started back up and it ran fine with no issue. Any ideas of what to...

My 2008 once got a "glitch", as it back-fired while restarting it after it's hot. Check engine light on, went into "limp mode" (20 MPH top speed). Turned it off, restarted, problem went away and never came back.

If you pull the error codes (DTCs) that would give you an idea.

However, it might be a one-time issue, so write down the codes, clear the codes, and see if they come back.

1988 Chevy Truck suddenly stopped running while running 60 mph down the highway. Just quit. Now the engine turns, but doesn't fire. Tried starting fluid. Won't fire. Check spark, and I have spark. So...

If you're certain you have spark then try the starting fluid again strait into the throttle body with someone immediately starting it. Your compression may be another issue to look at but this is uncommon to stop you while running down the road. You might want to check the compression though. Take off a valve cover to confirm that the valves are still moving to help rule out a broken timing chain.

I would check your connections and grounds. I would check the voltage of the battery with the bike off and then compare it to the voltage when the bike is running to see if the battery is charging. Your may have enough voltage to run lights but not enough amperage to crank. Is the new battery full of acid? silly question but I have seen this happen before, the guy puts the wrong amount in it.
Check your fuses too. I would verify that its charging before trying to chase down any current draws of shorts.

CTS 2004 shuts down when making a stop and car lost thrust on Hwy

Tell the dealership uhugh. if the check engine light comes on, there is an error code which gets stored in the computer. on the nicer vehicles (like yours)it stores vehicle information at the time when the error occured....eg battery voltage, rpm, speed, temperature, rpm etc. you need the find out what the error code is. that would give you an idea on where to start looking

hope this helps
