Question about 1993 Suzuki RF 600 R

1 Answer

How do I replace the headlight bulb on a 1993 Suzuki RF 600 R motorcycle?

On the way home from a friend's house, I switched from high beam to low beam and the low beam stopping working on my 1993 Suzuki rf600r. I can still use high beam. Do I need to remove the fairing from my 1993 Suzuki rf600r motorcycle to replace the headlight globe, and if so, HOW, and what parts of fairing do I need to remove? Thanks in advance.

Should be able to pop it from the back, remove dust rubber, remove wire retainer, pull bulb and replace in reverse

In cars, you place vehicle 10 or 20 feet away from a wall and measure up from the ground with lights on and adjust the height and spread of beams to get a focal point. On your bike, I would find another bike similiar to yours and do the same thing. Just park pace out 20 steps heel to toe and make a mark on ground of front wheel and then mark beam height. Then take your bike and place it in same position and adjust accordingly.

1998. Why don't headlights and/or headlight high beam light on my dash work?

Hi, Andy if your headlight is not working the first thing to check is the headlight bulb for damaged filaments then check your light circuit fuse, that being said the usual suspects are:
1. Faulty ground or power supply to headlight bulb socket.
2. Faulty hi/lo beam switch.
3. Faulty ignition switch.
4. Fuse is good but no continuity on both sides.
5. Faulty wiring between battery positive and headlight bulb socket.

My 2006 GSXR-600 headlight goes in and out

Hi, Gixxer86 if your headlight is not working, only one beam works, keeps burning out, blinking, dim or surges from bright to dim to bright the first thing you need to check is the headlight bulb for damaged filaments then check your light circuit fuse, then check your head light bulb socket ground wire for a clean tight connection, that being said the usual suspects are:
1. Faulty ground or power supply wire to headlight bulb socket.
2. Worn down solder contacts or loose fit of the bulb base in the socket due to vibration.
3. Worn, chafed, or broken wires in the light circuit.
4. Corroded, broken, or loose pins/sockets in wire connectors.
5. Faulty hi/low beam switch.
6. Faulty ignition switch.
7. Fuse is good but no continuity on both sides.
8. Faulty headlight relay.
9. Faulty wiring between battery positive and headlight bulb socket.
10. Weak charging alternator/generator/lighting coil
11. Faulty voltage regulator/rectifier ground or overcharging.

Headlight plug w/all the wires coming of it continue to over heat and light blinks off and on. 1993 ford truck F350.I have replaced it twice and I have replaced several switches also each time the plastic...

the headlights flash due to high current draw. It allows you to get of road at night w/o having lights go out. Is it one headlamp doing this? Are both low beam bulb and high beam bulb on at the same time? If yes, it will melt housing. Otherwise look for short circuit. This assumes you did not put aftermarket high current bulbs in your headlamps.
