Hi, Arjuncvs the following applies to carbureted also fuel injected models and the usual suspects are:
1. Severely discharged or a damaged battery, 9 volts or lower.
2. Faulty alternator/generator and or voltage regulator.
3. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Faulty main circuit breaker or ignition switch, check for loose connections and continuity.
5. Faulty system and or ignition relay, check for continuity.
6. Faulty ignition coil, ignition/electronic module.
7. Faulty CKP, CPS, CMP, MAP, TPS, O2, or BAS sensor, corroded, loose or broken wire connector pins/sockets.
8. Water or dirt in the fuel system, carburetor or filter.
9. . Restricted, blocked or kinked fuel line.
10. Fuel tank empty.
11. The gas cap is not venting properly or fuel tank venting system blocked.
12. A faulty Fuel Pump, pressure regulator and or fuel injectors.
13. Vacuum line from intake manifold to petcock broken, cracked, or not attached, carburetor vent line plugged.
14. Needle and seat stuck closed in the float bowl.

Start at you battery and work back towards your ignition inspecting each and every harness connector...disconnect, clean with electric contact cleaner, apply a small amount of dielectric grease and reconnect, even the connectors under the seat. Take your time and it will be worth the effort. Check all the grounds too.

SOURCE: My pulsar 150 stops suddenly

Hi.

The symptoms could be caused by a defective CDI. The coil either works or it doesn't. Before replacing CDI check for wiring problem. Check if the bike has a kick stand switch, that may be responsible for the problem. Double check ignition wiring and wiring to CDI.

Here a service manual: Bajaj Pulsar DTSi Workshop Manual

Regards.

2001 Blazer rough idle and misfire cylinder 2 code

misfire codes are most often generated by faulty injectors and not what you have replaced
the misfire can be from blocked injector tip, failing injector wiring/signal and low fuel pressure
move the injector for 2 to another cylinder and see if the code moves as well to the next cylinder ( replace injector)
if not check wiring or ECM for problems

This can be due to a leaking pressure regulator and or the injector lines leaking. These are located under the plenum, which has the throttle body mounted in the center.

Misfire on third cylinder, coil ok,spark plugs ok,

If the electronic's are good then look towards a dirty or faulty injectors. Try running fuel injector cleaner through the fuel system for the next few fill ups and hope this will clear up any dirty injectors you may have. You could always swap out the #3 injector with an other injector and see if the misfire will move to which ever cylinder you swapped the injector with. If the misfire moved then you have a faulty injector and you may need to have it replaced or just a good cleaning. Good luck and hope this helps.

Misfire on cylinder 4 & 5. combustion miss with cylinder cutout.

the best way to diagnose a misfire is to move the ignition coils of those cylinders(4 and 5) to different cylinders to see if the misfire will move. you can also move the injectors around and even the spark plugs.(make sure to keep a good record of where you are moving them). if you can't get the misfires to change cylinders. your next step would be to do a compression check on all cylinders. air leaks in the intake system can cause misfires but usually it isn't on the same cylinders all the time

This is a pretty common problem. I would change your valve cover gaskets. They run around ~ 50 bucks. If they are bad it will leak oil into spark plug well and cause a misfire. Very known on the 740.. Also if tune was not anytime not too long ago id change spark plugs while you at it. Then clear the computer and if you still get misfire on 8 try changing the ignition coil which is right about the cylinder with cylinder ignition coil 5. clear the computer. if you get random misfire and misfire cyclinder 5 after then its your ignition coil. parts store runs around 100 bucks

hey thanks for bringing me up to speed. ive been working on many other problems but with your great explanation i remember.
we need to check the compression on that cyl. and compare it to the compression on 2 other cylinders your choice.
but before you do this get a can of carb cleaner . and with the car idling spray around the intake manifold in the area of #6 cyl. what we are looking for is a small vacuum leak that would also act like this. with the engine idling and spraying around the intake the engines idle sould not change and if it does when you spray you have an intake leaking.
let me know how it turns out.
