Question about 2006 KTM XC 300 W

Intermittent starter problem?

Battery is good, starter button does nothing---not a sound. Happens about 40% of the time but starts easily with kick starter. Not a top dead center issue. I'm thinking dead spot in armature?

That would be my suggestion. When it does not e start try moving the kicker a little and then try to e start if it does then dead spot on armature .Also may be poor contact on starter button check with test light if working at solinoid. If no good conection take apart switch and clean contacts with sand paper.

Starter stops working from time to time.

I'd say you have an erratic starter button or connections to it.

My 2011 Roadking will not start at times. You turn ignition on and hit the start button and nothing happens. Then you come back later and the bike starts with no problems. Ran code test no problems their....

Sounds like there is a bad or loose connection. Lots of things to consider like exposure to weather, moisture. I would start with the battery, check the condition and charge level, check connections, follow wires looking for damage, breaks. Check ignition switch connection, check handlebar switches and connections for corrosion, clean and lubricate Finally, it could be the starter, that can be pretty pricey so you may want to have the bike professionally diagnosed if you are still having problems, good luck

Nothing happens when i pushes the starter button for several times on pulsar 220

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Discharged battery, check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Bank angle sensor tripped and ignition/light key switch not cycled to the "OFF" position and then back to the "ON" position.
5. Security alarm needs a reset.
6. Starter control circuit, relay, or solenoid faulty.
7. Faulty starter button.
8. Electric starter shaft pinion gear is not engaging or over-running starter clutch slipping.

Everytime i turn my key nothing happens my battery is good car wont start and i was told it was a wire not gettin jucie to the starter to kick over

sounds like the ignition switch contacts have packed up in the ignition switch ,fit a push button type switch so its by passed the ignition switch ,pick up a 12v supply from ignition switch ignition on side ,then to switch then to starter solonoid ,although you can wire it through a relay if you want to be professional

I have a 2005 fatboy and i replaced the battery. when i hit the start button the starter relay clicks and nothing happens. all my lights work and the fuel pump kicks on like normal. it just wont start

Sound like starter is stuck. Try giving it a tap with a rubber mallet, while pressing start button. If this does not work, put bike in gear and push it forward a few feet, then try again to start it. If still nothing try using jumper cables on battery, then start. If no go you have a bad starter.

2003 GMC Intermittent Starting Problem

Check the other end of battery cables, may have good connection at battery but not at starter or ground. (Always check ground first, often a source of problems.)

Next time it happens, try hooking up jumper cables and see if the intrument panel lights up.

Also, check for loose fuse, not properly seated fuse. And cables to fuse block. (That model may have more than one fuse block)

Intermittent starting problems

I have similar problem with wife's B200. Am told it's the neutral/park sendor in the gearbox, which prevents car starting unless in park or neutral. Dealer wants AUD$1200 to remove gearbox to replace faulty switch sensor. Will update this website on repair outcomes.

06 s83 won't start. Rode for 70 miles, parked in

replace your battery although you have 12 volts your battery is producing very little amps not even enough to energize your start relay let alone your starter motor
