WANT TO RAISE MY HANDLE BARS

Get a set of risers. They attach to the neck where the bars would bolt on then attach the bars to the risers.

Handel bars are off centre

I would loosen the cap bolts on the handle bar risers and I would loosen them slowly, if you can get a second person to hold them up so they do not drop and maintain you handle bar angle. Get a tape measure and figure where you need to be, to get them centered again, then retighten the cap bolts on your risers. Please make sure you get them tight enough that they will not come loose on you while you are traveling down the highway. Rick.

Windshield not fasting tight. we are not sure if we are installing properly.

The bolts that hold the windshield on screw into blind holes. If the bolt is bottoming out before the windshield bracket is tight, you should have some chrome washers of a chrome strip that goes on the bolts.

Good luck

How many ft. lbs to tighten handle bar bolts on the risers of 2004 FHLRCI ?

I've never seen a specific torque value listed for a riser bolt, neither the large bolt on the bottom or the smaller bolts at the top. Simply tighten them to within reason, not too loose but don't strip the threads either. The large lower bolt or nut should be quite tight. The smaller 3/8" bolts at the top should be just tight enough to prevent the handlebars from slipping. I'd use Loctite 242 medium blue on all the bolts.

Hi there, I have a 98 HD Springer that I have rotated the handle bars forward to accomodate my reach. Since I did that, the handle bar mount has some up and down play from frame. Other than the bolts...

If you're talking about where the front fork stem goes up through the steering head of the frame, I'd take the bike to a dealer to get this fixed as there is a certain procedure for tightening this. Now if you're talking about the handlebar risers, the is a big nut or bolt on the bottom of each riser. You probably need new rubber bushings in the upper triple tree for the risers.

Can't get blades off bolts very tight unsure which way to losen

Bolts should be a standard right hand thread ( rightey-tightey...leftee-loosey ) clean all rust and grass residue off the bolt heads and spray with penetrating oil or WD-40 and allow to sit overnight...sounds like the bolts may be rusted in place...I use a socket and an 18 inch 1/2 inch drive breaker bar to to remove the bolts...if they will not turn loose, try having someone hold the blade or jam them in place with a piece of 2x4... apply pressure on the breaker bar...and give the handle a good whack with a hammer.... that should pop them loose, or if you have access to an air impact wrench that will work also...here's a tip for ya....after you get the bolts out, clean the threads with a wire brush and apply either anti-sieze compound or waterproof grease to the threads of the bolts before re-installing they won't stick again....( another little maintenance procedure they don't tell you about)...good luck !!! ;-D

How do you adjust the handle bars?

On the older FL models, there was chrome cover that covers the handlebar risers. It was held on by two bolts, one on each side of the cover right in the middle of the handlebars. Remove the cover and you can get to the riser. Loosen the top bolts of the riser and adjust the bars. Unless they've changed something, this should work.

Good Luck

How do i get to the clamps on a harley davidson road king handle bars?

The tops of the clamps are under a cover on top of the headlight nachelle. On the earlier, there were two screws that you had to take out and the handlebar clamps were right under the chrome cover. Now if you wish to get to the bushings on the "risers", most people call them clamps, you must remove the entire nachelle in most cases. This requires the removal of the windshield, headlight, turn signal bracket, and possibly other things. The bolts or nuts for the clamps are on the bottom side of the upper triple tree.

Need help in installing windshield on 2005 Suzuki Boulevard

If the bracket is not yet in place, you will need to remove the plastic cover up front along with the turn signals to install it, and this will require that the signals be respliced. Once the bracket has been bolted to the bottom triple tree, you simply install the windshield with the four bolts that go through the plates and into the bracket nut plates- this is much easier with help, and it is best to get all of the bolts started by hand before tightening any of them.

Rear view mirror came off of the round base on the windshield

it depends... #1 if the mirror came off and there is a little metal bracket still on the windshield, then there is a little screw at the bottom of the mirror (T20) this needs to be losened, the mirror slid over the bracket (top to bottom) then the screw retightened. #2 if the little metel bracket is still in the mirror and has come off the windshield then it needs too be glued back onto the windshield.(try the local glass shop). #3 if one of the mirror knuckels has come apart you need a special tool to snap it back together. this only works 80% of the time and makes it weaker and easier to pop off again, if this is your problem and you do not have access to the 'special tool' I suggest buying an new mirror. (again check local glass shop or wreckers,$25-30ish)
