Hi Joe, the one in the middle is a crankcase drain plug for splitting cases or in case the bottom end loads up for some reason.. A couple of ounces of oil draining is normal thats the amount that usually remains for lubrication purposes. If you pulled that plug and nothing came out I'd be worried

Is there a drain plug for the primary on a 2009 fatboy, 96 ci

Of course there is an inspection cover on the primary. It is called the clutch inspection cover or derby cover. The primary drain plug is right below the center of this cover and it is a 5/8 inch hex head with a 1/4 inch Allen socket in the middle of the plug head also. You fill the primary through this cover opening also and ONLY up to the bottom of the clutch diaphragm spring.

Where is the oil plug on 2008 harley nightster

Transmission/primary or engine????

Engine drain plug is in a rubber hose that hangs down under the motorcycle transmission area at about the point where the kickstand rests in it up position. It has a worm clamp that you would loosen with a one quarter inch socket to allow you to pull the plastic plug out to let the engine oil drain out. The transmission/primary drain plug is on the bottom of the primary cover right below the middle of the clutch inspection (derby) cover. It is a 5/8 inch hex head plug

Where is the oil drain plug for 2002 road king

There are three oils. You do not say which one.

Dyna engine oil is on the left side bottom of the oil pan near where the jiffy stand rests when up and straight in from the side. The primary is under the middle of the primary case on the left side facing the ground and the transmission is under the right side of the oil sump case about mid way from front to back. All are 1/4 inch ALLEN socket heads inside 5/8 inch hex plugs. All use an o-ring and thread sealant.

Softail is the same except the engine oil drain is on the right side at the rear of the frame down tube near the swing arm attachment point and faces the ground.

Touring is the same except that the engine oil drain plug is on the left hand side front of the oil pan facing the front.

Sportster engine oil drain is on a rubber tube hanging down under the frame near where the jiffy stand rests when in its up position and the transmission and the primary use the same drain plug and are the same oil. The engine oil plug is a 5/16 inch plastic plug held in place with a mini worm screw clamp with a plain screwdriver or ¼ inch hex worm drive fitting.

Hi there,

Method A

1. Remove both side panels on the back of the front bezel and secc there's three plastic black locks with circular head ( On the top, middle, bottom of the front panel ) on the right side and three on the left keeping the panel to the case.

2. push the plastic black screws enough until the front panel is loose.

Method B
1. Remove the right side panel and push the three plastic black locks with circular head ( On the top, middle, bottom of the front panel ).. do this if you will not put screws on both sides of the drives.

2. Use something like butter knife on a boundary that is in between the loose part and tight part twist the knife.

Hopefully this information helps.

Open lid, how?

To Access/replace the CCU:

#1

Unplug the Whirlpool Cabrio power cord from the wall outlet. Turn off the water supply to the washing machine. Pull the washer away from the wall so that you can access the screws behind the control console. Remove the hex head screws securing the control console to the washer with a nut driver. The screws are on the lower rear edge of the control console.
#2

Lift the control console up, and rotate the console forward so that the face of the console is resting on the top of the washer. Locate the interface board cable connector to the right of the plastic tube on the back of the console. Pull the end of the connector straight out of the control console. The primary machine control is the box that the plastic tube connects.
#3

Place small pieces of masking tape around the nine wires connecting to the primary machine console. Label the wire locations onto the masking tape with a pencil. Grasp each wire at the connector with your fingers, and pull the wires away from the primary control. Pull the plastic tube out of the primary control.
#4

Locate the nut toward the bottom of the primary control. Remove the nut with a nut driver. Lift the front of the primary control slightly, and slide it down to disengage the retaining clips. Pull the primary control out of the control console. Insert the new primary control into the control console. Slide the primary control up to engage the lower clips. Secure the primary control to the console with the single hex head screw.
#5

Push each of the wire connectors into their respective positions on the primary control until they lock into place. Push the plastic tube hose over the port on the right side of the primary control. Remove the small pieces of masking tape from the wires.
#6

Position the control console back upright on the top of the washer. Secure the control console to the washer with the three hex head retaining screws. Slide the washer back against the wall. Turn on the water supply and plug the washer into the wall outlet.

Gear box and crankcase oil amounts

You have THREE oil 'compartments' on your particular year&model bike.

(1) The ENGINE OIL
---( which holds 3 to 3.5 quarts or liters of oil).
---On the right side of the bike, and at the rear of the ENGINE OIL TANK, you should notice a Hose that is connected to the oil tank. Follow that Hose downward.
The other end of that hose will either :

----A: Be connected to the bottom of the frame,
OR
----B: Have a Metal Plug in the end of the hose. That 'plug' will be held in the hose via a hose clamp, and also will be secured to the frame via a 'clip' that is actually part of the frame).

-- IF(A): the Hose leads from the tank and is attached to the frame, you will notice a hex-head plug (that also has a hex-cutout in it's center for insertion of a hex or allen key) underneath the part of the frame that the hose is attached to. Remove/Unscrew that Hexplug from the frame to drain the engine oil.

--IF(B): the hose that leads from the Oil Tank has a "HosePlug" that is inserted into the end of the hose, remove that plug to drain the engine oil.

*Removal of the Enging Oil DIPSTICK, located at the mouth/fill area at the top of the Tank will aid in a faster flow of oil from the tank. When done draining, re-install the drain plug.

-When changing the engine oil, also remove and install a new Oil Filter.

*Put in no more than 3 quarts/liters of oil into the Engine Oil Tank.
*Ride your bike for min. of 10 minuets, then park and shut down the engine, wait for about 2 minuets, and check the level via the Dipstick. Proper oil level will be at or just below the 'FULL' mark of the dipstick.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(2) The TRANSMISSION OIL:

On the right side of the motorcycle, the
TRANSMISSION OIL FILLER PLUG/DIPSTICK is located on the foward facing side of the Transmission End Cover. The Trans End Cover is the cover that the Clutch Cable goes into. The Trans Fill/Dipstick has a Hex/Allen cutout in it for insertion of a hex/allen key to remove it.

The Trans DRAIN PLUG is either located either:
A: -Located on the Transmission Case, JUST BELOW the Trans End Cover. If here, the "Drain Plug" will be a TORX fastener. Remove that Torx fastener to drain the Trans Oil.
OR
B: -Located UNDERNEATH the Trans Case, in between the two Shock Absorbers. If here, the 'Drain Plug" will be a HexPlug that is the same type drain plug as described earlier for the engine drain.

TRANSMISSION OIL QUANTITY is as follows:
** 600 ml. for a 5-speed transmission.
OR
** One Full Quart/Liter for a 6-speed Transmission.

******Use the Trans Dipstick to verify that the level is correct. Between the FULL and ADD mark, or at the FULL mark.

ALSO NOTE: Drain, and Check your Oil when the bike is level. Have a friend assist you if needed. You don't want the bike falling, and/or landing on you.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(3) The PRIMARY OIL

Located on the LEFT SIDE of motorcycle, the PRIMARY HOUSING connects the Engine Crankshaft TO the Transmission Output Shaft via a Primary Chain, which is lubricated by an oil bath.

(Make sure the Engine Run/Stop Switch is in the STOP or OFF position).

Remove the DERBY COVER (the Large round cover, with 5 Torx Fasteners. With the bike level, you should note that the oil level come to approx. just past the bottom of the Clutch Basket.

The Primary DRAIN PLUG is located: either at the

(A) Left Face of the Outer Primary Cover, below the Derby Cover.
If so, it will be a TORX or HEX/ALLEN fastener. It is NOT the same as the Hex/Allen fasteners that surround the Outer Primary Cover securing it to the Inner Primary Cover.

OR

(B) Located UNDERNEATH and ON the Outer Primary Cover, just below the Derby Cover area. It will either be a HEX FASTENER, or a Torx Fastener.

-Remove the Drain Plug to drain the Primary Oil.
-Reinstall the drain plug and fill (thru the Derby Cover Area) with ONE QUART/LITER of PRIMARY OIL.

****** BE SURE to clean and coat the threads of each Drain Plug with Teflon Paste thread sealant. NOT THREAD LOCKER.

****** BE SURE NOT TO OVER TIGHTEN THE DRAIN PLUGS.

If you are unclear of anything I wrote, please dont' hesitate to get in touch with me through here.
Good Luck , and THANK YOU.
