Don't touch the glass of the bulb, only hold it with a clean cloth if you have too. Check that the wiring has good clean earths and connectors. The higher wattage the light the more fragile the filament is to vibration.

Sorr,y I have high beam and no main beam. Can't be the bulb because the main beam comes on occasionally.

You need a test light or multimeter and test for power from the bulb connector back. It could also still be the bulb as the broken filament could still be making contact occasionally.
Remove the bulb and flick it with a finger while watching the filament. You are looking to see if the filament is vibrating. If the bulb is good wipe it with a clean rag before replacing.
Check the high low switch contacts are clean and all wiring connectors.

If the bulbs are chroming or getting black check the earth side of your wiring. Don't touch the bulbs with your bare hands use a clean cloth. Don't use bulbs over 100w in power.

Bmwk1200s main beam bulb keeps bowing when replaced with ne. Can you assist

Hi,it seems like you might have a live wire tuching some where wich might be coulsing the bulb to blow.
when you put the bulb in its holder make shore not to get grease on the glass part off the bulb as this to can make it blow, its better you dont tuch the glass part at all.
or you could try yousing a multimetre to check that the write power is coming through.maybe headlight switch.
well food for thought.

Main beam lights not working

It's possible the "main" lights elements have burnt out.
I believe it's a single bulb per side with both high and low beam elements inside.
Try replacing a bulb and see what that does.

hi.
the side light and the high beam will be different bulbs. they may appear to be the same, but if you look carefully, there is a smaller bulb, normally just below the main bulb. the sidelight will usually be a small 5watt bulb where the main beam bulb will be much larger, and anywhere between 45 and 65 watts. look for the smaller bulb and replace that first..

The low beam bulb needs to be replaced. Go to an autozone store as they will sell you the bulb, and even assist you in their parking lot with installing it.

Left indicator comes on automatically after turning right.

Maybe there is a high volts drop going through the bulb circuit if one of the main beam bulbs has broken. Try replacing the main beam bulb with a new one and see if you have the same problem.
