SOURCE: What is the correct type

Leaded fuel hasn't been available in the US for about 15 years or more. Just make sure to use an octane rating high enough to prevent 'pinging' that occurs during acceleration. Hope this helps!

Is there a special trick for setting the fuel level for a 95 kawasaki vn 1500

Hi Edwin, you could have a faulty sending unit or gauge, there could be a problem with your wiring. On models with the fuel gauge posing as a left-hand fuel cap the gauge is a press fit do not try to unscrew it, simply ample force lift up in a rocking motion to remove gauge. Disconnect wires to the gauge and with a set of positive and negative jumpers from the battery connect the positive jumper and flash the negative, gauge should peg full, if not replace the gauge. With a test light check for power to the sending unit, then remove the sending unit and manually operate the float arm slowly with the correct wiring hooked up to the fuel gauge and sending unit and the ignition on, the gauge should respond accordingly if not replace the float arm assembly. If your fuel gauge registers the incorrect amount of fuel in the tank you can try bending the float arm the necessary amount for a more accurate reading. My engine surges high and back to low RPM once it gets hot and keeps repeating the cycle.

Have replaced the fuel filter, air filter? Either one can cause surging. Last resort if those dont fix it, rebuild the carb. Not hard but get the correct kit.

I have a Kawasaki Vulcan 750 getting fuel & fire great compression won't start please help

Hey Frank... been a while..
A internal combustion engine only needs 3 things to run...
1. A timed spark
2. Compression
3. Correct air/fuel ratio
One or more of these are not right...ALL THREE must be absolutely correct before it runs...

It all depends on what type (and brand) of two stroke oil you're using. For example, some non-synthetic two stroke oils are supposed to be mixed at a ratio of 20:1. While most synthetic oils are designed to be mixed anywhere from 36:1 to 100:1. Your best bet is to follow the advice of the folks at your dealer as to the type of oil to use - and then follow the recommended mixing ratio as detailed in the oil manufacturer's instructions.
