WHEN MY 53 RENUALT TRAFFIC WENT FOR MOT 2 MONTHS AGO I ASKED THE GARAGE TO CHECK THE GEARBOX OIL, THEY TOLD ME IT HAD TAKEN ONE PINT OF GEARBOX OIL TO FILL IT TO THE LEVEL, SINCE THEN IT HAS STARTED THROWING OIL OUT OF THE BREATHER PIPE ON TOP OF THE GEAR BOX, THE GARAGE CAN NOT SORT IT OUT AND TOLD ME TO TAKE IT TO A GEARBOX SPECIALIST, ANY IDEAS, I DID ASK IF THE OIL THEY ADDED WAS COMPATIBLE, AND THEY ASSURED ME IT WAS. THE VAN HAS ONLY 33,000 MILE AND I HAVE OWNED IT FROM NEW.

Sounds like either the blow by valve is stuck closed or they overfilled the system

First off - at 33-k the gear-box should not be needing oil !!
Why did you ask them to check the gear-box ?
They might have overfilled it..
Call around and get some oppinions from othershops..

How do i check transmission oil auto gear box merc 2001 s320 please thank you

most likely you don't have a dipstick, like mine, SLK 2.3, I asked the garage to dip it with their special multi dipstick, f o c, nice garage, the only other thing I would suggest is get the transmission fluid changed by a garage, silly not having a dipstick if you ask me

Corsa bakkie

see if there is oil in the gearbox. usually a plug on the side of the gearbox. if no oil in it and no visible sign of leakage, then they probably did not put oil in the gearbox.

The malfunction indicator light came on about a month ago in my Suzuki Alto (2005) and I took it to the garage and was told there was a misfire in cylinder 2. I was told it was fine so they reset the light...

If the code has been a misfire in the same cylinder every time, the problem is very likely the ignition coil for that cylinder. When the ignition coil first starts to go, the malfunctions will be sporadic and therefore difficult to troubleshoot. The ignition coil can be tested for resistance on both primary and secondary windings in the coil to prove it is failing.

Hi I have a 2001 Honda Accord 1.8 vTEC; I have used it sparingly since last year's service and MOT. Can I delay service by another 4-6 months so I can do the service and MOT, along with other services

Sorry old school dinasaur here ,no 5000/6000 miles a service ,sorry for being hard but that is my service schedule it also includes changing wheels around including the spare .Topping up battery ? oiling door hinges checking everything and oiling nuts on suspension so they dont go rusty ,spraying underneath with waste engine oil to prevent corrosion ,drilling a drain hole in boot if its not draining .cleaning light bulbs and greasing the buld contacts .maybe drill a hole in outside front floor pans if windscreen rubber is leaking .Think i should go get back in my coffin now before i get told off .

How much gearbox oil do I need to put in my renault kangoo 1.9 diesel

If this is a manual gearbox, simply add the appropriate oil till it begins to spill back out of the fill plug. This is the correct level. If it is automatic, i would begin with 6 pints and run the engine, shift through the gears and place back into park and check the dipstick. Fill 1/2 pint at a time from there.

T30 transport engine

Did you check to see if it had oil in it? If it had no oil in it is possible there could have been an oil leak or the plug came loose? If it was just if the engine seized up then the engine has to be replaced. So please tell me what you want to know? are you asking for how much it costs or is there something they could of done in the service that would damage the engine. post here and let me know.

I get that too. Also thought it was the boots. Have yu checked under the engine? It might be an issue with your gearbox leaking oil. I haven't found my exact problem yet.
