How to change rear wheel bearings on gpz 900 r 1987

Take off wheel...remove cush drive on sprocket side...prise the oil seal out on the brake side and you'll see a circlip...remove this and drift bearings out. Drift new ones in with a socket or bit of tubing that is the same size as the bearing outer so as not to damage the bearings...re-fit circlip.

I am building a gpz 500 s street rat form a scraper and have just noticed that the left hand side filter for the carb warmer pipe work has been snapped off.can i cap them off or will the carbs ice up ??

capped off the system on my gpz1100e with no wet or winter problems...
just as likely to get carb icing on my 900r which has an intact system with new filters...so I wouldn't worry.
new filters are cheap enough though if you want to keep the system...

The seat on my gpz 900r is stuck its been lying in the shed for 10 years. the lock will turn but it will not release the seat cheers Kev

Cool bike!, The seat latch is a bar with two hooks that runs across under the seat, you may be able to lever it forward by removing the right sidecover and probing with a long flatblade screwdriver.
From memory ,the latch is actuated with a cable from the lock that has probably broken or siezed.
Sorry, it's been a couple of years since I sold mine.

Does a 1985 gpz 75 have a compliance plate i cant find it on a bike i recently bought

I guess you mean a 750, The compliance plate should be on the steering head, right at the front between the upper and lower bearings. That is where it is on my 1984 900r and they are almost the same bike.

Hi does the gpz 900r have the same crankshaft as the gpz 1000 rx . Thanks

No but there is not much between them if i remeber right the cam lobes are slightly bigger which would give you more air and fuel which maybe be detrimental. check cam lobe sizes in the haynes manual for 900 and 1000 and compare
