Why does my Ozeri Bathroom Digital Scale beep Periodically?

It appears to be a built in 'feature'.
  • Newly designed with a capacity range from 0.05 oz to 12 lbs (1 gram to 5.4 kg), the Pro II features a built-in countdown kitchen timer with 3 alarm modes (audible beep, blinking LED, or combined).
The new countdown kitchen timer offers an audible beep, blinking LED, or combined audible and visual alarm for the fast-paced chef. The scale's weighing platform is made of durable glass, and the large screen features a new bright LCD with an improved viewing angle.
The Ozeri Pro II Digital Kitchen Scale also features a 3 minute automatic turn-off that yields enough time to make adjustments to measurements before it automatically turns off to conserve battery life. Ships with 2 AAA batteries included, both a calorie and postage guide, and a user manual. Your satisfaction is guaranteed.

I have a Tanita Chinese Scale 570913. I don’t know how to use it and can’t read Chinese. It has five buttons the front side. When is it off button the others says 1 2 3 4. How can l set it? I weigh 84 lbs....

That is 886.258 pounds!! It is broken, throw it away. Or remove the batteries for 5 minutes. For your Chinese buttons, you can use a smartphone with the Google Translate app and use the Camera function to translate what the camera is seeing. It is very clever.

Or contact the USA department of Tanita and ask for a manual in English.

ERr

Are you talking 31 "Stone"? If so, I believe that comes out to 434lbs. You are lucky if your scales can read that high. For testing purposes, remove your shoes or more if you think your right at the upper limit. Or let a slightly lighter friend try it. I assume your talking "Stone" as used in the UK. Are you from there? (I,m in the US, in Florida.) Also, there should be a switch on the bottom of the scale (upper left corner) allowing you to switch between lbs, st and kg. You can try that as well, although the limit should be basically identical. If you tell me more, I can help you more.
(By the way, I weigh 197 lbs right now, that's 14 stone.)

Scales are getting a Err 1 message, installed new batteries, need to reset them some how. They will not zero themselves out

My scale was fine the other day. I weighed myself earlier in the day. I tried to weigh myself later in the day and the scale started reading ERR1. I called Taylor and they had me try to "reset" the scale twice. It did not work.

The steps for resetting it are:

Turn the scale over
Remove the batteries for at least 10 seconds
With the scale on it's side (even though you aren't supposed to put the scale on it's side, carefully insert the batteries and put the back on the scale
Slowly return the scale to a flat hard surface
Step on the scale after about 10 seconds of it being back in position
If the scale still jumps with crazy numbers and reads ERR1 try to reset the scale again being very careful when the scale is on it's side
If this does not correct the problem then the scale will need to be returned to the manufacturer, to the address on the label on the bottom of the scale
I was told you could put the scale in any box and ship it to them the cheapest way possible but be sure to keep the batteries with you
If you are still under the year warranty they will send you out a new scale in 4-6 weeks

I was not happy that my scale was purchased on 11/14/09 and it died on 02/12/10. Luckily I knew where my receipt was. I pulled it out and noticed 02/12/10 was the last date to make returns to Target for that transaction. I was able to go and return my scale to the store because it was in the 90-day window that I had purchased it.

I was told that the reason the scale was doing this was either an delayed electrical interference that may have occurred during. The only other reason I was given was an OVERLOAD. Well, I seriously doubt an overload was my issue. First of all I was the only person at home that day so nobody else stood on the scale. I had used it earlier in the day and it was accurate. I am 5'6" and 139 lbs. so I seriously doubt it was OVERLOAD unless someone isn't telling me something and I need to lose some serious weight.

Anyway, I hope this helps. I wasted a lot of time trying to figure it out that day. Now I have my new receipt and if this happens again I will go get my new scale just as I did this time. I thought a 4-6 week wait for a replacement scale was insane. Kudos to Target for taking the scale back without a box or instructions on the last day I was able to make a return.

New Scale out of box will not weigh correctly

Take a 5 pound bag of sugar, flour or what have you. Put it on the scale. If it is off, turn the scale so that you can check every possible place for an adjustment. Adjust and go for it!!! Good luck...Lee

Wii fit weighin too light!

I would suggest that you ensure that the board is calibrated properly and that you don't step on it until directed to do so. I'm sure you're already doing this, because it won't let you go on without doing so.

The other solution I would offer is to change the batteries in the unit, and ensure that you are setting the Balance Board on a smooth, sturdy, and flat surface. If you are on shag carpet, it will not function properly. If you have average carpet, try using the little adapters that attach to the feet.

Remember that for the purposes of this program, the exact weight isn't what is most important, but relative weight. Any time you are tracking weight loss, be sure to mark your progress using the same scale. If you chart the Wii vs traditional scales, you should notice that the decrease is the same, regardless of what your starting point may happen to be.

Good luck!
